The Franklin Delano room in the Delano Homestead B & B, is located on the third floor. This room, has some eaves and a bit of low clearance at the top of the stairs, but is full-height and has a recently renovated, large bath with clawfoot tub and glass shower. The room has a queen-sized bed as well as a dresser, desk and closet. There is also another room adjacent with two twin beds that can also be used. Please contact us for a rate for both rooms. We are within an hour of two airports, Boston, and Martha's vineyard. The property is historical with Greek Revival Architecture. It was in FDR's family for 120 years. From the house, you can walk to the harbor, town pier, marinas, restaurants, library, beach, and parks. We are only a mile from the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, as well as the New Bedford Whaling Museum. We are within half-an-hour of Newport, Cape Cod, Providence, and many beaches. We are within an hour of two airports, Boston, mid-Cape, the ferry to Nantucket, whale watching, Plymouth Plantation, etc. Guests have access to their bedroom and bath, living room, dining room, kitchen, gardens and greenhouse. They can make their own coffee or tea at any time or have a piece of fruit or snack. We serve an oversized continental breakfast in am (included). Antique homes of character, Romanesque buildings, stone walls, etc. Fairhaven, a small picturesque town shares a harbor with New Bedford. This harbor is the biggest income producing fishing harbor in all of America. we have nearly 500 working fishing boats here. So, great seafood. Fairhaven has a pretty, mile-long sandy beach as well. You can take a plane (New Bedford Airport, Logan Airport, or T.F. Green Airport), bus or boat here and you can walk around town easily. We also have a bike path. We are located within blocks of: the town hall, library, town pier, several restaurants, tennis courts, running track, bicycle path, marinas and working waterfront. We are a mile from Fort Phoenix State Park and Beach, many more restaurants and shopping. We are near the island ferries, zoo and whaling museum.
