Relaxed neighborhood close to Longwood medical area shuttle. Ideal temporary home for graduate and post-doc students, medical students or interns needing short term stays (1-8 weeks) with a possible option to stay longer. A very good base from which to find more permanent lodgings in the area. Dog and Child-friendly as long as dog and/or child are themselves friendly. Our dog, Gracie, age 8, is very friendly. The space One private bedroom with double bed (shared bath) in a unique, comfortable home in Brookline. Walking distance to Green line T stops (Reservoir and Cleveland Circle) to Boston and Cambridge. Five minute walk to a free shuttle to Longwood Medical area--Dana Farber, Brigham, Beth Israel. Groceries, restaurants. cafes, and other services within walking distance. Lively, closely-knit international neighborhood of medical researchers and clinicians, writers, artists, teachers..families of many configurations. We have hosted guests from all over the world . Perfect jumping off place for those looking for more permanent housing, great base for college visits or for Parents' Weekend or graduations. Use of kitchen in morning and by request at other times of day. Home full of books, art, musical instruments, cd's and vinyl. Next to our home: a big public park with tennis and basketball courts, sandboxes, picnic tables, little league and high school baseball fields--lots of little and big kids, birds, and fun .An extremely active Pickle Ball venue. A truly old- fashioned neighborhood. We value your privacy just as we value our own. Roku Television, wireless, laundry, and good humor. Snacks and fruit. Guest access Check-in is generally anytime after 2:00PM; Check-out is 10:00 if we are expecting guests the same day --and otherwise somewhat flexible. We keep a separate fridge for guests on our front porch -- help yourselves. to everything therein. BATHROOM: We share our bathroom, but guests have first dibs on shower. Hairdryer, toothpaste, tylenol etc. in basket in guest room.Parking space available. KEY to front door will be on bedroom dresser. PARKING SPACE available for guests During your stay We are here to help and also understand that our guests are not here visit with us. Lots of privacy, but we are usually up for a friendly chat or to offer insider suggestions. We, of course, will let you know ahead of time if we plan to be out of town for any part of your stay. Other things to note Glad to help you get acclimated. We can offer suggestions for bookstores, cinema, restaurants, and cafes, but best way to learn the area is to explore Washington Square, Coolidge Corner, and St. Mary's---all on the T (transit) line.
