The cottage is near Stockbridge, Monterey, Lee, Lenox and Great Barrington. All art and culture centers are easy to get to. You are surrounded by the beauty of the Berkshires. There are great views, restaurants, farms, lakes, hiking trails - rural and natural settings are abundant. The cottage is private and tranquil, and it's rural location is an ideal escape/getaway. No complaints in paradise! The space This turn of the century cottage is located on a 130 acre farm, it has total privacy and beautiful surrounding. The house is stocked with linens. Three and a half baths, three full bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, screened in porch, a deck, and washer/dryer. The house is across the brook and up a stone staircase (30 steps) from the parking area. We can make the option available to unload your baggage on the driveway to the main house in order to circumvent the steps (details available). You will be just across the street from the Ashintully Gardens of 150 acres and McLennon Reservation of 450 acres. Near Tyringham Cobble, state forests (Beartown and October Mountain) and the Appalachian Trail. Short drive to Great Barrington, Stockbridge, Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, and Kripalu. Visit the Bidwell house, Naumkeg, Mission House, Shaker Village, Norman Rockwell Museum, or one of many other sites right in the neighborhood. Over 100 restaurants in Great Barrington alone. Farm stands and shopping (i.e Berkshire Co-Op and Guido's Market) close by if you want to cook in the fully equipped kitchen. Great place for nature lovers, music lovers, foodies, sightseeing aficionados, or someone looking for peace and quiet and a nice place to sit. The master bedroom is nice and airy and has an outside deck. The second bedroom is slightly smaller but gets good light. The third bedroom is on the lower level and affords privacy. Kitchen is 10' x 20' including breakfast seating area Dining room is 10' x 15' and seats 6 comfortably The living room is the largest room in the house and connects to a front door foyer. Master bedroom is 14' x 20' with a fireplace and a king sized bed, it adjoins the outside deck Second bedroom is 10' x 12' with a full sized bed Third bedroom is 10' x 14' with a full sized bed The property is very well manageable. The driveway to the main house circumvents the 30 stone steps up from Main Road, and you can park very close to the cottage for loading and unloading. The house is great, but what is outside your door is magical. Tyringham Valley is one of the most scenic towns in the Berkshires. You are only steps away from Ashintully Gardens with its blend of majestic manicured beauty and spectacular wild forested mountain side land. Hikes of McLennon Reservation available are accessible by foot from the house. The cottage is near the Appalachian Trail, and the town swimming pond.
