Our hip urban home is a great base for your family gatherings or City adventures! Gorgeous chef's kitchen, two 55" TVs with speedy WiFi (Netflix, Hulu, etc). Ideal for groups of 6 to 10 (but sleeps up to 16). Vibrant family-friendly neighborhood, a short 20 min. walk to Journal Square PATH station which has buses & trains to NYC, Hoboken and Newark Airport, all within a 10-25 min subway ride. Our family lives in the downstairs attached home. Ask about add’l bed/bath & rented parking space. We are a local family, not absentee landlords. We live in the attached home below, but your home will have its own private, locked entry and entirely private spaces. Built over a century ago, our fully-renovated 3 bedroom/2 bath home includes a well-lit Victorian double salon with high ceilings and a spacious attic bonus room (a great hideaway for kids and teenagers— or couples who want a big bed for each to sleep on) where there are two queen beds, a futon, couch & twin mattress and a huge 4K TV/and available Wii gaming system. The house sleeps up to 16+ people, but fits 6 to 10 most comfortably. All bedrooms have blackout curtains for sleeping in late. Our chef's kitchen features a kosher dishwasher, gourmet range and an Amish crafted dining table that extends to seat 10 and extra table for 3. We have a Keurig coffee maker with coffee, chef’s knives, and all your essential cooking supplies. There is also plenty of seating in our chic, central living room where you can enjoy our 55" wall-mounted HDTV. Your apartment has its own thermostat. In warmer months, every room has its own window AC unit. Please note that we set up AC for the windows when daily highs start consecutively reaching into the 70s and 80s (usually mid to late May). While we want you to thoroughly enjoy your stay, we do not allow loud parties, as this is a family-friendly home and area. If you have any questions or need advice on how to navigate the city, we are just a knock away! The entire second and third story with private, locked keypad entrance are yours! The second bathroom has a clothes washer and dryer for your use. There is a laundromat around the corner too. You can rent our 4th bed/3rd bath for add’l fee for larger groups. We also have a parking spot available right out front for only $20 per day! Please let us know in advance so we can arrange it. Jersey City has been our home for almost 10 years and we love it and are eager to share it with you. We can advise you on transportation, the best local eats and NYC sites to visit. Just hop downstairs and knock on the door and someone is usually home. We are also able to give you full privacy if that is what you prefer. We have maps, directions and tips waiting for you when you arrive! Jersey City is a gem with the best view of the Manhattan skyline and a 7 min drive to the Statue of Liberty! Hoboken, home of Carlo's Bakery, is our next door neighbor. Our neighborhood is especially family friendly and walkable. Enjoy tennis, picnicking, bike trails and multiple playgrounds, all within a 3-minute walk from your home away from home. Just around the corner is a Catholic church, an array of ethnic eateries, a Dairy Queen, convenience stores, fruitstands, hair salons, etc. We are also close to Liberty State Park, where you can catch a ferry to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, or to NYC! Journal Square (JSQ) is only a 15-25 minute walk, 5-10 min Uber/Lyft, or a 10 minute bus ride for $1.60 where you can catch the bus on the corner of the next street. JSQ is the perfect hub to get to Hoboken, downtown Jersey City, Newark Airport, and midtown & downtown NYC (as high as 33rd, and a straight shot to the World Trade Center). If you prefer a bus into NYC and want to end up around Times Square and the Theater district, it's about an 8-10 min walk to the bus stop where you can catch a frequent line that goes straight into that area in around 50 min ($6 per person). Don't stress about city parking! We have a dedicated parking space to rent for $20 per night, located right outside the front door. Additional parking spaces available for $25-$30 per night. Want to see Broadway without the kids in tow? We have childcare available! As licensed foster parents with over 25 years of childcare and teaching experience, we are more than qualified to tend your little ones (or big ones) while you enjoy the city attractions. Hourly rate: $30 for first child plus $5 an hour per each extra child. Extensive references furnished upon request. Let us know if you would be interested in this. We are looking to invest in a monitoring device that would allow parents to see their children at ANY time from their phones.
