Perfectly situated one block off of Main Street and within walking distance to downtown, "Stay Here Play Here" is the perfect place to retreat whether you are here on business or pleasure. We are small town folks who take pleasure in the small things, so upon your arrival you are welcomed with a homemade baked treat (*if you prefer no treat please let us know) and local coffee. We are sure that you will want to come back to "Stay Here and Play Here" in the Cedar Valley! You will enjoy your stay in the upper level of our 1932 house as the lower level is where I teach Kindermusik M-TH 40 out of 50 weeks of the year. Thus, most weeks are only rented Thurs-Sat night. We do consider weekly rentals, so please contact us to inquire about longer stays if you don't mind us working and teaching while you are there. Character, clean and modern all describe our lovely space. A few perks include off street parking, a smart TV in the living room, remodeled tile bath with double showers, fully furnished kitchen, patio with grill, one child and two adult and bicycles, on site laundry, and availability to host small family gatherings, business meetings, and birthday parties while you are here (please inquire about the use of the studio space if interested - this is for an additional charge). Sleeping arrangements include one master bedroom with a comfortable queen sized bed, a small room with a single IKEA bed, another small bedroom nook off of the living room with a single IKEA mattress (this is perfect for little ones or even your college student!!), a full sz sofa bed with down mattress pillow, and a queen air mattress. *NEW - we have added a portable crib/pack and play and high chair to accommodate families with infants and toddlers. The Tub and baby changing station on the main level can be accessed if requested. The lower level of the house is my workspace and therefore, not rented space, except for the kitchen. You will enter the house using a keypad at the back door which leads to the kitchen. From there, you will pass through the studio and use the staircase to enter your main living space. While we do live and work in Cedar Falls, we are often busy. We offer a self entry keypad for your convenience and will check in with you via text or phone. If we are out of town and something requires our attention, we have family who is able to come over and take care of you. Located one block off of main in the historic downtown Cedar Falls you can always find something to do here. Several activities and events take place downtown, including Live to 9, a summer concert series, on most Fridays June-August, & the CF Farmers Market just two blocks away on Saturdays, May- October, from 8:30-12. Within walking distance are several parks, shops, dining venues, churches, and trails which allow you to literally "stay here and play here" without having to hop back into your car until you leave. If you do need to drive, only 3-8 min to the West is Sartori Hospital, and Hudson Road which takes you directly to the University of Northern Iowa with the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, McCloud Center and UNI Dome. To the South is the heart of the city where you will find more retail shopping, the Cedar Falls Visitor's Center, the Industrial Park and access to hwy 20. To the East is Hwy 218 to Waterloo, home of the the Black Hawks hockey team, Cedar Valley Sports Complex, Five Sullivan Convention Center, John Deere Museum, Waterloo Center for the Arts and Grout Museum District, Allen Memorial Hospital, Mercy One (formerly Covenant Medical Center), Main Street Waterloo, the Isle Casino, Lost Island Water & Theme park as well as George Wythe State Park. Our location is perfect for walking, riding bikes or driving. Being only a few blocks from 1st street you have easy access to Hwy 218 and Hwy 58 to the East, Hudson Road to the West which connects to you Hwy 20 to the South. The House manual will have information on taxi service and bus routes should you need these services. We truly hope you will take advantage of the downtown atmosphere - it is so charming, sophisticated and classy.
