The Lake Mary Ronan Lodge w/ Waffles!
Hello! This is a cozy, cozy lodge at Lake Mary Ronan. The area is beautiful and a great retreat from the ole hustle and bustle of life. For the outdoorsy, there are hiking trails and a gorgeous lake with endless activities nearby. For the indoorsy, this is the ideal place to relax and take in the mountains, forest, and lake all at once...from the comfort of a fluffy couch near the crackling wood-burning stove (while eating yummy waffles covered in Huckleberry syrup). The space This is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with a completely unobstructed view of the mountains and forest in the back and a somewhat obstructed view of the lake to the front. Features: - less than a mile to Lake Mary Ronan State Park (public lake access) - fully-stocked kitchen - coffee station (with regular, decaf, tea, cider, and cocoa) - waffle station (with local Hucklerberry syrup) - wi-fi - large deck - ping pong table - outdoor seating - fire pit (wood provided) - charcoal grill - wood burning stove (wood provided) - SmartTV with Netflix, Hulu, PrimeTV, HBOMax, and Peacock - DVD player w/ an assortment of movies - book and game closet - washer and dryer - heat - access to resort amenities (in the Summer) - cell service Guest access There is a large driveway that can accommodate four vehicles. If you have more than four vehicles, there is a patch of grass around the side than can accommodate more vehicles. Other things to note Setting some expectations: Smoking (of any kind) is allowed but only outside. Please put out cigarettes or other ~papers~ responsibly. There is not much in the way of food or groceries around here. There is a bar/restaurant (Mountain Meadows) on the lake that is about a five minute drive from the house. It is open Wed-Fri, 4-slow and Sat/Sun, noon-slow. Thursday night is Bingo night (highly recommend) and Friday night is steak night. Other than that, I would make some grocery plans prior to your arrival :) You are not going to be wowed with the wi-fi here. Regular services don’t come out here, so I have the best satellite wi-fi money can buy. It still isn’t amazing. You shouldn’t have any issues surfing the web, sending emails and texts, and streaming shows (mostly), but I wouldn’t schedule any zoom calls while you’re here. I work from home and haven’t had any major issues other than some slow loading and with video calls. My neighbor Bob has not turned his stereo off in 40 years. You can’t hear it at all in the house, but if you’re outside, you might hear some light tunes. Luckily, he normally plays pretty good music. He also has a bit of a junk yard situation going on. You don’t really see it from the front or back, but just a heads up for when you’re driving in. :) This is rural Montana. There is a lot of wildlife out here. This includes bears and elk (and a shocking number of turkeys). Carry bear spray if walking around in the backyard and know how to respond if you run into something. I have not seen any animals (other than turkey/deer) too close to the house, but still it is best to be prepared. During winter months, you will likely need 4WD or chains to get around the lake, especially if you are arriving at night. Lastly, during the winter months, I will be having the driveway and walk up ramp shoveled/plowed, but I cannot guarantee it will not snow between the time of shoveling/plowing and your arrival.
