Perfect base camp for your adventures in Western Montana. Close proximity to Glacier National Park, FCA Airport & Bigfork village. Enjoy perfect days at the lake with a private dock, kayaks, SUPs, a BBQ, fireplace and large outdoor entertaining space. Completely remodeled with luxury finishes in 2021. Foodies love the chef's kitchen. Clawfoot tub is perfect for soaking after a day hiking. Latest smart home technology incl. 1 GBPS wifi and a Tesla charger. Walk to restaurants & more. Please be sure to read the entire description, including the note about the bed set up and the pros/cons of our location. It's a great area - the road gives easy access but there is some road noise. New for 2023: Have a larger group or want extra space to stretch out? Our bunkhouse camper has been completed and provides sleeping for 3 additional people, bringing the total sleeping capacity to 13. Please inquire if interested in the camper. Great for teenagers and older children. Professional photos coming soon. The house: You will have everything you need to feel right at home, and no detail has been overlooked. Amenities include a fully-stocked kitchen (Kruig, coffee grinder, Instapot, juicer, etc), the latest tech, a selection of books to read by the lake, spa bathroom with rainfall shower, clawfoot tub and heated bidet/toilet seat, comfortable couches and fireplace, BBQ, outdoor entertaining area and more. The decor is authentic to Montana, showcasing Montana history, artists and artifacts. All of the furniture in the house is brand new with the exception of some carefully curated vintage items. The house is 2600 SF and has 3 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 laundry rooms, 2 electric fireplaces and 2 walk-out decks. Who this property is great for: Water lovers Flathead Lake has some of the cleanest, clearest water in the world. Take our crystal clear kayak out and see for yourself. There is also a boat rental place within eyesight. Kids and adults alike love the stand-up paddle boards we provide. Or, simply do like we do, take an afternoon swim then get a glass of wine, grab a lounge chair and marvel at how clear and refreshing the water it is. Adventurers We are at the apex of several world-class recreation areas. From Glacier National Park to the Jewel Basin to the Bob Marshall Wilderness, there are beautiful mountains, raging rivers and abundant wildlife in every direction. We provide guide books and recommendations. Remote workers We provide 1 GBPS wifi and two desks. There is also wifi on the dock. Groups or two families traveling together We designed this house so it flows together as one home, but each floor has everything it needs to be a separate living space. A staircase and hallway connect the two floors for easy access or more privacy, you decide! There is also a fenced yard for kids to play in. Foodies We are within walking distance of many of the best restaurants on the lake. We also have a fully-loaded chef's kitchen with a Thermador range, huge quartz island, wine cooler, etc. Fishermen and women At nearby Papa's Market, you can get a fishing license. After a day fishing, celebrate your catch by grilling on the BBQ while watching the sunset from your private dock. Music lovers The nearby Raven and Bonfire restaurants have live music several days per week in the summer. Bigfork has a summer concert series. You may play your music on the dock as long as the one neighbor doesn't complain, which they don't unless you have bad taste like polka ;). Friends and families of all sorts People love the open entertaining spaces and that there is something for everyone at our property. We provide an entry code for easy check in. No need to keep track of keys. There is ample parking for 4+ vehicles. Guests typically check in with a code, but we are available via the Airbnb app for any questions. Woodsbay is a lovely spot on Flathead Lake just before the charming village of Bigfork. We're on the East Shore, which is known for its many cherry and apple orchards (we recommend stopping at a local fruit stand or stopping to pick your own on the drive up). The community of Woodsbay itself is located at very pretty widespot on the road that surrounds the lake. People say each town around the lake has its own personality. Woodsbay is relaxed, yet eclectic and fun loving. It's not a resort town and doesn't have any large condos or chains. Woodsbay has a thriving, friendly local year-round community and is a favorite of Montanas who come from hours in each direction to enjoy an afternoon on the lake and cocktail at the Raven. In a state where it can sometimes be hard to find anything other than a burger and fries to eat, Woodsbay has an astounding array of options for such a tiny community. You can find upscale local farm-to-table fare at Schaefer's or Woodsbay Wine. While you can get classics like burgers or tacos at The Bonfire or The Raven, you can also find dimsum, Thai and more (and it's good too, even as world travelers, we approve). The Sitting Duck and the Saddlehorn both offer pub food have amazing outdoor seating. Montana inspired cocktails, wines and microbrews abound. At Papa's Market, you can get your Fishing License and tackle. Papa's also has basic groceries and a good selection of wine, beer and liquor. You can easily walk to these places from our house. In Woodsbay, you are close to it all, yet not in a proper city or town itself. Location In addition to the many things in walking distance, these things are close by: Downtown Bigfork: 8 Minutes Glacier International Airport: 35 Minutes Glacier National Park/West Glacier: 45 Minutes Woodsbay Public Beach/Fishing: 3 minutes Wayfayers State Park, Hiking, Cliff Diving & Beach: 7 minutes Swan River Hiking Trail: 9 minutes Beardance Hiking Trail: 6 minutes Flathead Lake Brewery: 7 minutes Even though you can walk to restaurants, a market and boat rentals in Woodsbay itself, we recommend people flying into Montana still rent a car, especially if they want to visit Glacier National Park or other nature areas outside of town. In general, Uber and even taxi service are very spotty and unreliable in much of Montana due to the low population density. We recommend renting the car well in advance of your arrival since the airport is small and has limited inventory. Beds: Please review the number of beds carefully to make sure they work for your group! While you could put 10 adults in this house, we think the twin pull-out sofa and cot are better for kids. Ideal # of adults sleeping in this house is probably 6 to 8. All the other beds including the memory foam sleeper sofa are high quality and great for adults. Road: We are located on a fairly busy road with a 35 mph speed limit (does not always mean everyone goes this speed). The dock is across the street from the house. Most people aren't really bothered by the road noise much because they are having a great time chatting, listening to music, etc. If you sit quietly in the house, you can hear road noise. We've put noise proof windows in the upstairs bedrooms, and there are fans and a calming water fountain. There is a road circling the entire Flathead Lake, and a lot homes here have some noise. Due to the high mountains in the area, many roads are built along lakes and river valleys. We decided when we were purchasing this house that having some road noise was worth it for direct lake access and to be in proximity to restaurants we love and Glacier Park, but want to be up front especially for renters who might be particularly sensitive so you can make your own decision. Lake View: Both the open living/dining areas upstairs and downstairs have sweeping lake views. There are some powerlines visible. We are praying for the city to put them underground like they did on the otherside of the lake, but as of 2021, that has not happened yet. The views are still beautiful! Water Toys: You may be required to sign an additional safety waiver for paddle boards, etc.
