Many Mahalos. *The first sightings of humpback whales in Hawaii occurred early this year in October. They have already been seen off of Maui . The whales never fail to captivate locals and Hawaii visitors, bringing everyone together as these giants draw the gaze and awe of all who witness this incredible spectacle. *Whales: Maui whale sighting differs every year. It's lately been as early as September that humpbacks are spotted. It is estimated 12,000 whales migrate to Hawaii, and by the winter season, we are beginning to see more of these numbers arriving on Maui. January is a great time to visit Maui as the warm tropical beaches and whale watching makes for a nice break from the mainland’s snowy weather and busy holiday season. By February, everywhere you look, you see whales! The majority of the whales that migrate will all be here during this month, making it one of the best months for whale watching in Maui. The time frame for the whale season is December 15th - April 15th. December more whales arrive, and we can spot them, breaching and spouting warm air from their blowholes like puffs of smoke! Sometimes, the light refracts off this puff of air and water, creating a rainbow above the whales blowhole! *Washers and dryers located on site on the ground floor.
