Private Studio with Ocean Views, Hamakua Coast
Private/separate from the main house guest studio in lovely Hakalau village. Easy access and parking, comfortable double bed, private bath, spacious shower, HD Smart TV, cable, high speed WiFi and kitchenette. Lush landscaping and beautiful ocean views from the entrance. A short walk from the house is a spectacular rainforest hike down to the shoreline. Surfing, ziplining, waterfalls, and much more within a 15 minute drive from the house. Our guest space is a studio built in 2019, off the back of the detached garage with a private entrance. The kitchenette has a coffee maker, electric kettle, hot plate, microwave, toaster and small refrigerator. We provide coffee, tea, bottled water and local snacks. NOTE: Although we provide the above appliances and some dishes & utensils, there is no sink for the kitchenette. There is of course the sink in the bathroom. The bathroom has a beautiful walk-in shower, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, fresh towels. We have an outdoor bistro table to enjoy the ocean view from the yard. NOTE: The space is 140 sqft and the double bed is very comfortable for one person or 2 smaller people who really like to cuddle :) ALSO NOTE: We are located off Hawaii Belt Road so there is intermittent road noise during the day. Very little traffic at night. For any guests who are sensitive to this, we have a white noise maker and fan if needed. You'll be able to access your studio space and the yard area. The studio space does share a wall with the garage and we keep those doors locked. Aside from that, you are of course welcome to explore the neighborhood. It's lovely to walk around and down to the shoreline as well. We live on the property in the main house. We love meeting our guests and we're available for questions, help and advice on things to do. We also understand people like their privacy so we're available as much or as little as our guest(s) would like. Hakalau Plantation village is a beautiful residential community, 18 minutes north of Hilo. A short walk from the house is a breathtaking hike to the shoreline and the old Hakalau Sugar Mill. It’s a great location, away from town and crowds (the nearest gas station is 10 miles away) but central to the many amazing sights and activities along the Hamakua coast. Surfing, swimming, fishing, beach, waterfalls, ziplining are all short drives away. If you're in the mood for a bit of colder weather and a chance of snow, it's only a 90 minute drive to Mauna Kea. A rental car is definitely recommended to get around to all of the sites on the island. Convenience stores, cafes, nightlife, are south of us in Hilo or up the coast 15 minutes in Papa'aloa.
