The Log Cabin is located in lush and peaceful Ahualoa, just an 8 minute drive up the mountain from historic Honokaa town. The Log Cabin is a great setting for families, groups, weddings or other special events. You can enjoy a stroll around the yard or a walk in the area, it is just beautiful and naturally diverse. The Log Cabin is made up of 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms on about 2500 square feet of living space which sits on about 24,000 square feet of land (a little over 1/2 acre). The first floor has a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room (with cable on a 50 inch TV) and one bedroom (with 2 beds) and its own private bathroom. On the second floor you have three small bedrooms sharing one full bathroom and a multi-purpose room connecting to the large master suite. The home has Wi-Fi throughout. The backyard has a gazebo with a BBQ and a dining table allowing you to enjoy the outdoors in comfort. We have everything you need on your island paradise vacation including beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, coolers, body boards, and beach towels). There are multiple free parking spots on the lot with plenty of space between you and the nearest neighbors. Doug, the caretaker of the property, will be available as needed. Doug lives onsite but in a separate unit with a separate entrance (attached to the Log Cabin). For the avoidance of confusion, the house is fully private and the only thing shared with Doug is the front and backyard. He will give the guest as much space as they require but is also available if the guest has questions or requests. The Log Cabin is in a cool, lush, and quiet mountain agriculture community about 8 minutes up the mountain from Honokaa. It is 21 minutes from the must see Waipi'o Valley and within 45 minutes of the Kohala Coast which has some of the most beautiful beaches on the island (and the world). It is also 1 hour from Hilo and 1 hour 13 minutes from Kona International Airport. There are a variety of plants growing on the property and around the property including avocado trees, mango trees, orchids, bird of paradise, ‘hapu’ u fern, ti leaf plants, hibiscus, anthuriums, bromeliads, camellias, palapala’i fern, amau fern, raspberries, ylang-ylang tree, fig tree, citrus tree and bamboos. A car is required for most of Hawaii island. We have several Toyota 4Runners and a minivan available to be rented. If you book the Log Cabin you will receive an additional 10% off the list car rental price. Please ask us about this offer. Weather: During the winter months Ahualoa gets to the low 50s F. Please bring the appropriate clothing. While we complete pest control every month, you may see critters including geckos and spiders in the house. This is the case with most of Hawaii.
