Bellevue Manor in the Heart of Cajun Country

The home was built in 1874 and has 141 years of history in the heart of Cajun culture. The house can accommodate 10 people comfortably. It has 5 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms nestled on nearly 4 acres. Inquire about our our outdoor parties and wedding events, baby shower options and rehearsal dinner, special events. The space Bellevue Manor predominately offers short term rentals, BUT we offer discounted monthly or long term rentals or leasing (inquire within). The home is 141 years old furnished with original rare New Orleans antiques. I've personally owned the home since 2006, my extended family lived here since 1874. It is located on nearly 4 acres of land with several miniature horse which are seasonal housed from time to time. The home has 12 foot ceilings, a little over 3,000 square ft. The house has 5 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a library/study, dining room and kitchen. The house sleeps 10 people comfortably, 12 if you choose to use our queen size air mattress per request. The DOWNSTAIRS has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, study/library, living room, dining room and kitchen. The UPSTAIRS has 3 bedrooms, an open foyer sitting/daybed area in the that doubles for two more sleeping guests and upstairs has one full bath/shower. Outside has a gas BBQ and 900 sq.-ft. covered patio area. Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino is less than 5 minutes away. The house works out great for folks who don't want to rent several hotel rooms and prefer the option to have family and friends under one roof, like to cook or BBQ with family or friends privately. If needed a private local chef can be recommended to cater to any family, couple or group. The photos describe which bedrooms are upstairs and downstairs. He was an accomplished composer, musician, founder of one of the first all woman's brass ensemble in the South, inventor of one of the first pre-civil war breech-loading rifles and inventor of one the first forms of color photography, among other things. Seasonal and weekend rates vary. Our base rate is $400 -$500 per night, but subject to change depending on the time of year. Guest of 6 or less are the base price. Some seasonal rates MAY apply after 6 guests, which can be $50 per person per night, but depending on the occasion we may wave the additional person rate. I promise you it's still cheaper than multiple hotel rooms, so please understand why this is so. We offer “special events” options for family reunions, wedding receptions, baby showers, rehearsal dinners etc. A special event is classified as any gathering of more than 25 guests on the grounds. For example a wedding reception or family reunion of 125 guests is a “special event”. The rental price is $1,800, BUT includes the the house/rooms rental for the night. Additional nights are standard rate. Two night minimum. It can double as a one-stop shop for a bridal weekend to get ready with her brides maids and house out of town guests, including a rehearsal dinner option. We have access to caterers and you can bring your own drinks. Tables, chairs and tablecloth rentals I refer to “Everything Rental” in opelousas. Great prices and offer delivery. Example 10 tables, chairs and table cloths average about $250. We are close to Wolfe Hall in Washington, LA and Stone Oaks. We are just off 1-49. Guest access Guests get the entire place on there own whether 2 people or 12 people. Downstairs has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, study/library, living room, dining room and kitchen. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms, open sitting daybed/trundle bed that doubles as a sleeping area for two and upstairs has 1 full bath/shower. Laundry facilities are included. TV entertainment is Apple TV, which includes Netflix movies & HBO. Of course, kitchen access has the basics, dishes, pots, utensils, coffee maker, stove, dishwasher, fridge etc. If you can find something or need something specific, please ask us. We will be glad to get it for you. Other things to note Kitchen has most basic needs such as dishes, pots, coffee maker, etc. Gas grill under a large carport and patio area (900 square feet area). Complimentary shampoo and toiletries for the first two nights. Washer/dryer, detergent and iron are at your disposal for your washing needs, dishwashing tablets under the kitchen sink. Dishwasher (start buttons on the inside lip of the door: Press buttons left to right: Heavy, high temp wash, sani-rinse, heated dry, start button. Then close the door and it starts. Bath towels, wash cloths and fresh linens provided. The house is old and flaws are to be expected. We spend 6-8 hours to prep clean the home for each guests, but age is character. Both bathrooms are on a large shared hot water heater, although large it's not limitless, so far large groups, keep the that in mind. We have have Apple tv, which has free access to Netflix movies and HBO movies. On rare occasion, multiple hair products used simultaneous could flip a circuit breaker, but again rare. If you have questions or something needs attention, PLEASE call me day or night even if at 3 am. We are here for you and want you to enjoy your stay, so we are always available or can have someone available to you. Guest of 6 or less are the base price. Seasonal rates may apply for after 6 guests, $50 per person per night is additional. Feel freed to ask anything. I promise you it's still cheaper than multiple hotels, so please understand why this is so. The furniture is old so please respect this is still a private home, so furniture is not to be moved, please keep children from jumping on beds and sofa's, kids are kids.
