Secluded Berkshire house surrounded by 10,000 acres forest is with marked trails & pond that sleeps up to 10 people comfortably. The space Experience a Massachusetts Berkshire getaway in this huge, secluded vacation house. It's the only house that is surrounded by 10,000 acres of protected Hawley State Forest. Escape from headaches and the rat race. No cell phone reception here! But we have a landline phone, WiFi, 2 large flat-screen TVs with Netflix, and FREE phone calling over Ooma. We like to define our country home as a place to dream and relax. We care about your comfort, and we think we are not only a place to sleep but a real home for your lovely holidays. The house is 2700 square feet, with 3 private bedrooms, 2 renovated bathrooms (full bath [shower & tub], a large living room with 16 feet of couch, a fireplace, and a TV & DVD player. It has a one-car garage, central air-conditioning, and wireless internet. The house also has two clothes washers and a dryer, a screened-in gazebo, a porch, Hallockville Pond just behind the house, and 10,000 acres of marked trails to hike and explore. Detailed Sleeping Amenities : -Bedroom 1 : King size bed and queen futon bed -Upstairs Bedroom 2 : King bed, queen sofa bed, crib -Upstairs Bedroom 3 : Queen size bed -Upstairs hallway bed : 1 Double bed Kitchen : - Fully stocked kitchen, microwave, toaster oven, dishwasher, stainless steel refrigerator and freezer, 12-cup drip BUNN coffee maker, electric stove and oven, and eat-in kitchen wood table. - A propane BBQ, a smoker BBQ, and a charcoal grill (for use on the patio, please) - Everything you could possibly need for breakfast as well as a delightful dinner. Other Amenities: - Wood floors on the main floor only. - Iron, Hairdryer, Radio, Harpsichord - 42" flatscreen TV, Roku 4 streaming device with Netflix, VCR & DVD player, BOSE surround sound amplifier with a headphone jack, and a 2nd TV with Xbox in the downstairs bedroom. - Fiber high-speed WiFi wireless Internet (new mid-January 2020) - Central air conditioning (new in the summer of 2016) and central heating - Fans and space heaters, depending upon the season - Wood-burning fireplace with wood provided - Pet-friendly (with approval) and kid-friendly (with children's toys and crib) - In the summer, we offer 2 single kayaks, a tandem (2-person) kayak, a stand-up paddleboard, & inner tubes. The a bedroom, and most common spaces were all repainted in December 2025. There's a new BUNN drip coffee maker and two Ninja appliances were purchased in 2025. The two outdoor cherry red benches were added in 2024. The house insulation, the stainless steel stove, the living room carpet, laundry dryer and all were all purchased new post-COVID 2020 cleanliness improvements. In 2019 the kitchen floors, the basement carpets, charcoal grill, and the king and queen mattresses were newly purchased, and the kayaks, as well as the 16-foot C-shaped gray couches in the living room, new carpets on the entire stairs and upper floor, and Ecobee wireless thermostats; all have been replaced with new items within the past 5 years. In the summer of 2016, manageable railroad log stairs behind the house down to the pond were built. Rental is for the entire property, two-night minimum. All prices are shown in USD. Guest access Complete access to the entire house. Access to use the 10,000 acres of marked trails viewable from the bedrooms, bathrooms and living room. We'll provide you trails maps. Other things to note The house comes with a 4-digit wireless lock combo, thus avoiding the need to meet anyone to transfer keys. Checkin 24/7. The house is always prepared prior to guests' arrival. We have indoor motion sensors and cameras outdoors. We have 24/7 video/audio security cameras on the exterior of the property. They are located on the front porch (facing the front door and BBQ), above the garage door monitoring the driveway, the side yard (facing our gazebo and garden), and the back (facing our woodpile). These are security cameras focused on the entryways and designed to maintain privacy while enjoying our home. We do request a supplemental pet cleaning fee for those bringing dogs. In the summer, we include a few inner tubes, 3 kayaks (2 single-person and 1 two-person), a (lifeguard-grade) stand-up paddleboard, and organic garden-grown fruits & vegetables.
