Beautiful guest bedroom in a restored 1920s Colonial House. Classic New England vibe. Comfortable real queen bed with tall windows helps you to rest comfortably while enjoying the local sights. Close to Interstate-91, 5 minutes to Holyoke Community College, 10 minutes to Mount Holyoke College and Northampton, within easy driving distance to all five colleges, and just 15 minutes to downtown Springfield! Our spacious guest room features hard wood floors, hot water radiator heating and a Queen-sized bed and thick woolen rugs, and blackout curtains which make for a comfortable stay in the colder months. The room comes with tall windows, a small study table, and a walk-in closet for your belongings. The house is centrally located with easy access to I-90. 10 minutes from Northampton (Smith College, Academy of Music, Cooley Dickinson Hospital), and South Hadley (Mount Holyoke College), and just 15 minutes from downtown Springfield (MGM, Baystate Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, Big E). With convenient access to the Holyoke Mall (5 mins) and the West Springfield Shopping Area (less than 10 minutes) It’s also just 35 minutes from Bradley International Airport. Area attractions within a 30 minute drive include the Six Flags, Big E, Basketball Hall of Fame, Volleyball Hall of Fame, and Tri-County Fairgrounds. Not to mention dinosaur footprints, spectacular orchards and farms with organic produce, antiquing gems, corn mazes and more. We are located in the foothills of Mt Tom with loads of beautiful hiking trails. We'd be happy to share some of our favorite hiking spots! Rent a kayak on the Connecticut River in Hadley, sample some authentic Puerto Rican cuisine in Holyoke, explore historic Northampton with its lively restaurant scene and grab some ice cream at the legendary Herrell’s! If you’re staying for two weeks or more, we’d be happy to include kitchen access. Please include that in your enquiry. Here in Massachusetts, we are currently fully reopened as of May 29th, 2021.. Our household is fully vaccinated and are relieved to be able to welcome guests again. As is our usual practice, we ask that interested guests let us know what brings them to the area. Guests will have access to their bedroom and a shared full bathroom. We welcome you to enjoy our backyard when the weather's warm enough! We enjoy meeting and talking with people, but we also lead bustling lives in the community. We would be happy to respect our guests' need for privacy. The house is located in the historic Highlands area of Holyoke, filled with old Victorians and Colonials, and old trees. Real sense of history, with large mansions further down the Route 5. Our street is a dead-end street with less traffic, leading to Mount Tom. Free parking is available on the street in front of the house. We have a lovely cat, called Pycathoras. She's generally friendly, but will mostly stay out of your way!
