Sit on the screened porch any time; enjoy meals out there and watch the sun set at dinner over Popponesset Bay. Our house is on six wooded acres on a dirt road, adjacent to 20 acres of conserved beach, woods and marsh; great for walking and bird watching. The house is 2 miles from Cotuit; 15 minutes from Mashpee and 30 minutes from Hyannis. Ride your bikes along dirt roads to Main Street or walk to Oregon Beach. The beach parking permit allows you to park at all Barnstable Town beaches. The space This house is on very private land in the Village of Cotuit on Cape Cod. There are public beaches quite close by for great swimming, however you can kayak with your own boats that you provide from the beach at the house. You can ride your bikes to the public beaches, or jump in your car to get to the Coop, the little grocery store that sells newspapers, coffee, and some yummy sandwiches. Larger grocery stores are about a 8 minute drive out to Rte 28. Guest access Each bedroom has its own sink for privacy. There is a sheltered, private, outside shower for rinsing off sand and salt water. There are paths that lead right down to the water from the house and you can store your kayaks on the bluff out of sight. Other things to note Information about local sites and restaurants is provided in the little den downstairs. When you check out, we ask that you strip the sheets from the beds and put the dry bed sheets and towels in the laundry bags. Leave quilts, blankets, etc. on the beds. Wet towels can be left on the floor - or hung to dry. Since we send the laundry out, we are charged by the pound and wet towels increase the weight. Please start a load of towels before you check out and if you can get them into the dryer, that's great.
