The Hitching Post suite is inside a lovely private home located in the charming town of Hammond, LA which is just 45 minute drive from Baton Rouge and an hour's drive from New Orleans. It is also only a 5 minute drive from the local university (SLU) and the local hospital (North Oaks). We welcome extended stay medical and educational professionals as well as professionals in other areas. We also welcome parents of SLU students and family members of patients at North Oaks. We allow guests access to our spacious kitchen including the use of almost all of our small appliances (coffee maker, microwave, toaster, blender, can opener), but we reserve the right to restrict use of some large appliances such as the oven and stove due to safety concerns. We provide silverware, dishware, and seasonings such as salt, pepper, sugar, coffee creamer, and vegetable oil. We also provide complimentary breakfast snacks such as granola bars and/or muffins. We love to socialize with our guests and help them in any way that we can, but we also respect their privacy. We try our best to exercise a balance of both. We live in a small, quiet neighborhood on a narrow, dead end street. We provide complimentary breakfast snacks such as granola bars and/or muffins. Upon request we will provide a continental breakfast for a small fee. As of May 10, our TV service will be changed from cable to streaming only.
