Depending on the season, you can spot whales in the distance, a monk seal, colorful fish in the clear water, or majestic turtles swimming by. Listen to the soothing sound of the waves and enjoy the beauty of nature right from the couch, bed, or lanai. This apartment is not just a typical Airbnb – it’s our second home. We spend a lot of time here with our family and have created a space that is both cozy and functional. As a result, the property is often unavailable, and we take extra care to ensure it’s in excellent condition for our guests. The apartment is ideal for couples seeking a retreat and families with young children. Our daughter, who grew up here, has lovingly chosen toys she happily shares with the children of our guests. There is also a baby crib and plenty of room to explore and play. Workation guests will also feel at home: Since we work remotely from this apartment ourselves, we’ve set it up for seamless productivity – with multiple workspaces indoors and on the lanai, high-speed internet, and excellent mobile network coverage thanks to a nearby cell tower. You can enjoy the luxury of working directly from the beach. The beach in front of the apartment is particularly safe and family-friendly: The water remains shallow for over 100 meters, so adults only reach chest depth at that distance. A protective reef keeps the waters calm, making it perfect for snorkeling. With no public parking nearby, the beach is mostly used by residents and remains peaceful and safe. Our apartment intentionally does not have air conditioning, as part of our commitment to sustainability. Thanks to the beachfront location, there’s often a pleasant breeze, and with open windows combined with a ceiling fan, the apartment always stays cool. Traditional Hawaiian windows provide constant airflow, ensuring a fresh and comfortable atmosphere. The lanai is wind-protected, allowing you to enjoy the view and fresh air undisturbed – perfect for relaxing or working productively. Even with closed windows, the apartment remains pleasantly quiet. Guest access The apartment and lanai are exclusively yours – your personal retreat with direct ocean views. The quiet beach right outside is mostly visited by residents and turtles, offering the perfect conditions for relaxing, swimming, or snorkeling. You also have access to the following shared amenities: Pool: Perfect for a refreshing dip. Picnic area: Enjoy meals outdoors with beautiful surroundings. BBQ area: Great for laid-back evenings with Hawaiian delicacies. Directly across the street, you’ll find a local supermarket with an attached kitchen, perfect for quick supplies or meals. Additionally, several nearby food trucks offer a wide variety of delicious dishes, making dining easy and convenient. For larger shopping trips, the bus provides direct access to Ala Moana Center, where you’ll also find Walmart and Sam's Club. The bus stops right outside the building and is a great option for budget-conscious travelers. We personally love using it to explore many corners of the island with ease. Other things to note The building offers a high level of security: It is monitored by cameras 24/7, with surveillance in the common areas and outdoor spaces. A resident manager or security personnel is always on-site. For your daily needs, the shopping center in Hauula is just a few minutes away by car. There, you’ll find everything from groceries to services like copying, faxing, and printing. The local post office is also only 10 minutes away. Washing machines and dryers are available to all residents on the 4th and 6th floors. These can be conveniently operated using cash or the PayRange app. Due to the beachfront location, metal items such as mirrors or exhaust fans are exposed to salt air and may develop rust. This does not affect cleaning or maintenance but is an unavoidable result of the tropical climate. For this reason, we have chosen not to include a TV in the apartment – instead, we use laptops or tablets for watching movies and shows.
