Historic Home near beach & village
Description
The William Lewis House, built c.1794, is situated on 3+ acres with sprawling yards, gardens, and stone terraces. Ideal for a family vacation. The beach is a short walk in one direction and the quaint village with ice cream shop, cafe, casual restaurant, old tavern and wonderfully stocked grocery store/deli an easy walk in the other direction. A great clam shack/fish store between the house and beach We are available and friendly but tend to let guests have their private retreat. The space A seashore feel within walking distance to quaint Barnstable Village as well as Barnstable beach. The wide beamed floor and old world detail puts one immediately into a relaxed vacation mode. The house was recently remodeled with totally new and updated kitchen and bathrooms. Central Air was just installed as well. There is a master suite with bath and queen size bed on ground floor. Upstairs has a large room with a queen size bed. There is a second smaller bedroom upstairs with a double bed. The hallway has a bathroom. This bathroom is ideal for bathing children but not for adult showering. Down several steps one comes to a "bunk room" with six twin beds, each with built in night table and under bunk drawers. The house accomodates six adults and six children. There are two bathrooms on ground floor and a powder room. The main bathroom has a spacious shower. The second bath is en-suite to the Master and has a luxurious soaking tub. One prime Cape Cod feature is a lovely outdoor shower with AMAZING water pressure! We highly recommend everyone enjoying the outdoor shower. There is a hose just on the side of the house and ask that everyone rinses their feet when coming from the beach. The soft floors scratch so easily. Also no shoes in the house please. Guest access The house is large and spacious. Fully furnished and elegant for adults while still fun for children with tree trolly, games and beach equipment. Three bedrooms for adults, two queen beds and one double. The bunk room tucked under the eaves sleeps six and charms children with its cozy, camp like feeling. Other things to note The house has a very large outside area, with two terraces and large grass lawn. We are not able to rent it out for parties or events to be hosted on the property.
