Enjoy a long weekend getaway in this charming Tobacco Root Mountain retreat. Just an hour away from Bozeman, this off the grid cabin is located 2 miles above the historic mining town of Pony, Montana. Pony Creek flows through the nearly 5-acre property that is fully fenced and surrounded by public lands with hiking trails leading right out the back door. This is a great retreat for a getaway with extended family or a large group of friends. The space Constructed in 2011 with meticulous details, the main cabin includes kitchen, bathroom, dining room and living room featuring a beautiful stacked stone fireplace and a large covered porch overlooking Pony Creek. There are two sleeping cabins separated from the main cabin by a boardwalk that are currently configured to sleep up to 8 people. Main Cabin has solar powered electricity, a back-up generator, propane heat and propane lanterns. Each sleeping cabin has propane heater and a propane lantern with no electrical power. The main cabin has Wi-Fi, a TV and DVD player. There is a cell phone booster to increase cell reception within the main cabin. The sleeping cabins have various sleeping arrangements, including bunk beds and a toddler bed, and can accommodate up to 8 comfortably. Guests can access a fire pit along Pony creek from a short path from the cabin. Guest access Host will meet each guest / party at the Pony Creek Cabin to show the property, go over 'off grid' operational instructions, and safety policies. Other things to note The last mile from Pony to the Pony Creek Cabin is a section of dirt road that is not graded or maintained. Portions of the road become rutted and rocky depending on weather events. 4 wheel drive vehicles are recommended, vehicles with sufficient clearance are required.
