Take it easy at this unique and spacious getaway only steps to the ocean. Our Blue cottage features a queen bed, ceiling fans, shower and a Natures Head composting toilet. There is also a separate living room area with fresh water, a small dining table, and an outside portable stove. Blue Cottage is located in Hawaiian Paradise Park where you'll hear the nearby Pacific ocean rolling against the oceanside cliffs. We're 35 minute from Hilo and about the same for Volcanoes National Park. The space This is a secluded off grid cabin on a property with another dwelling (sometimes rented) on the one acre parcel. The bedroom has a queen bed and there is a separate living/kitchen area with a day bed. Free WIFI service is available on site. Make sure you understand the term "off grid". There is limited electricity sufficient to charge phones and or a small laptop. The off grid cabin has no AC. We supply you with ten gallons of water for drinking, and on long stays you'll have to visit the nearby public water station to replenish. There is a cooler that will require ice. The kitchen sink has a faucet that’s cistern supplied for dishes. There is no waste management service in this area so taking trash to a nearby drop off is necessary. We supply large bags and a container. The trash depository is located next to a public water spigot about 10 minutes away by car. Guest access A rental car is suggested. There is a bus stop on the corner by the property. Other things to note Per State law, we're only allowed one booking per month and thus the one week minimum. Please consider dates within a single month time frame, we may be able to have you arrive early (in a previous month - or depart into the next), but the documented reservation must be within a single month. Upon reserving, you will be required to complete our rental agreement that we will send via email. Those staying in the cabin must have their names entered into the Agreement.
