Built in the early 1900s, The Preaus House is boasting with character. From 12' ceilings to original hardwood floors, there are unique attributes in each room. There are 4 beautifully colored (non-functional) fireplaces in all the downstairs bedrooms, a claw foot tub/shower combination, rare cork tiles in the den, custom cabinetry, and a fabulous farmhouse kitchen sink. Room for parking up to 4 vehicles and boats or utility trailers is available. The space A question I get often is: Will we be the only ones in the home? Yes, you and your guests will be the only ones at the home. We are only doing one booking per stay at the house. However, according to how many guests per night you book is how many rooms you will have available. We base our rooms on 2 person occupancy. (For example: You book for 1-2 guests, you get access to 1 bedroom; 3-4 guests- 2 bedrooms; etc to 10.) If more rooms are needed to accommodate your stay, an “per room rate price and/or per guest rate” will be required in order to have availability to multiple rooms. We do lock doors based on booking occupancy. We’re working really hard on this 120- year-old, beautiful house. We want you to know that the outside of the house is in the process of being prepped to be painted. And it’s a BIG job… Please give it a little grace when you first arrive. The support from our rentals is helping us take care of the home. The inside looks just like the pictures, and hopefully, even better in person! We have it all set up for your comfort and convenience. If you love books, this is the place for you! We have a small library in the home for your reading enjoyment. The bedrooms are large with lots of space. Upstairs has an area with a bunk bed and large desk for those needing to work from home. The Master Bedroom has a smaller sitting/dressing room attached. Perfect for all your luggage bags! Guest access We have lots of room for parking! There is a large concrete area for parking 3-4 vehicles. 2 spots can accommodate hooked or unhooked boat or trailer parking by pulling into the backyard. Other things to note Another question we have gotten a few times: Is the area "safe"? Yes, we lived in this home for several years and currently stay in it while working on it. We feel that the area is safe for our family with children, or at least as "safe" as any normal, ungated residential neighborhood in North Louisiana. However, we recommend you take your personal or valuable items from your vehicle, lock your vehicle doors, and lock the doors to the home when you leave.
