Cottage in Becket

Relax in our rustic lake-front cottage for your next getaway in the Berkshires! Our small lake is perfect for kayaking, fishing, or just enjoying in any season. Come by in the Fall to soak in the stunning color reflecting off the lake. In the Winter, light up the fireplace after skiing nearby at Otis Ridge slope. Whether you want cook s'mores by the water, hike the Appalachian Trail, visit Berkshire towns, or just get away, we welcome you. Please Note-Animals not allowed. The space Available for weekly rental, our 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom cottage has one bedroom with a queen-sized bed and attached full bathroom, another bedroom with twin bunk beds, and a third bedroom with a full-sized bed and bunk twin. Perfect for one family or two, the cottage has a living room and den, with amazing lake views. The kitchen opens out to a deck overlooking the water and gorgeous sunsets. In the yard below the deck is a fire-pit and hammock by the water. As an added bonus, our internet connection is fiber-optic, so the WiFi is as fast as you could want it. ACCESSIBILITY: Parking is at the road-level, and access to the cottage requires descending three flights of outside stairs. The cottage is a ranch-style with no internal stairs, and the back yard and lake are accessible by one flight of outside stairs. CHILDREN: The cottage is not appropriate for children under 12-years-old, as its right on the water with no fences. No child-locks or guards are present on the property as well. Guest access Our cottage is in a private lake community in the Berkshires on a dirt road, with a private parking area for two cars at road-level. Access to the cottage requires descending three flights of outdoor stairs. Please do not book if stairs are difficult to navigate. The neighborhood is great for scenic walks, with two dykes overlooking Watson Pond and Lily Pond right down the road. Both East Otis and Becket are (very) small towns within 10 minutes of the cottage, where you can find a general store, several casual restaurants, ice cream and a deli. The marina for Otis Reservoir is 10 minutes away, and as are many other attractions. Other things to note SECURITY: There are security cameras on the property for monitoring the exterior and property. The front door is secured with an electronic lock, and the neighborhood is very rural and safe. WILDLIFE: The cottage is in a rural location, and insects are a part of the Spring and Summer experience. Small, biting "May flies" can be a nuisance in May, actually, and mosquitos are present in the evenings until it gets cold in the Fall. Using bug repellent is highly recommended for guests in the Spring and Summer. Although we do try to control them, small spiders can be found inside and out. If you're lucky, you might see a bald eagle circling above, herons, beavers, or otters. We do not offer discounts/refunds for insects, bugs or anything beyond our control. Guest must a profile with multiple reviews. Due to allergies no animals are allowed in our home. ESA are not considered service animals by the ADA. If a guests misrepresents a pet as a service animal we reserve the right to seek financially restitution, report them for fraud and evict them. No refund will be given for unsued stay if this occurs.
