Other things to note Aloha Junction Guest House is in Volcano Village, a small artist populated area about a 45-minute drive from Hilo and about a 2.5-hour drive from Kona. It thrives in this mountain rainforest eco-system around the 4000 ft elevation with cloud mist and cool weather...so please be advised by bringing socks, walking shoes, sweater, wind jacket, and a flashlight if planning on exploring the HVNP Park at night. Our rooms have heating to make your more comfortable. Located in the heart of Volcano Village makes it convenient to dine out, order some food from the Pizza place or Thai truck, or buy a few things to cook in house. However,, we also advise shopping for snacks and major food item in the larger towns as the two general stores up here can be quite expensive.
