High Rock Mountain House is located in Kalispell and is the perfect location for exploring all that the Flathead Valley has to offer. High Rock is located on 20 private acres nestled in the mountains with breathtaking views from almost every room! Enjoy views of the entire Flathead Valley from this 4 Bedrooms, 3 bath home that sleeps 12, double master Suites. The space **SUMMER BOOKING INFO: Saturday to Saturday, week long rentals for June, July & August** Your reservation will be canceled if you book anything other than SATURDAY TO SATURDAY DURING JUNE, JULY or AUGUST. All other months are flexible. Ask about long-term rental rates :) *** The road is steep but totally accessible in the non-snow months. We still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles even in these months. ***WINTER BOOKING INFO: Before you book, you should know that our road is an adventure! It is a one mile long gravel mountain road that is steep and has sharp turns. We are at the very top of the hill which is why we have such amazing views! It is accessible during the winter but you MUST HAVE AWD or 4WD. You MUST ALSO HAVE snow chains or studded tires. Chains are not always required but if the road is icy then they are a must. The road will be plowed and ready for you upon your arrival but if additional plowing is required during your stay, that charge is passed on directly to you at the rate of $90/plow. We also have a caretaker that is available to help you should you need assistance but his time is also billed directly to you after your stay at the rate of $35/hour per person. If you get your car stuck in the snow and need to be towed out or anything of the like, these charges will be passed onto you without question if you use his services. Winter driving experience is preferable for winter bookings. We are from Texas and did fine with AWD and snow chains so it is a doable adventure if you are up for it! Distance from High Rock to: *Glacier Park International Airport - 18 miles, 30 minutes *Kalispell (and nearest grocery store) - 13 Miles, 23 minutes *Glacier National Park - 32 miles, 43 minutes *Jewel Basin Hiking Area - 5 miles, 12 minutes *Bigfork & Flathead Lake - 17 miles, 30 minutes *Whitefish - 28 miles, 42 minutes *Whitefish Mountain Resort - 35 miles, 57 minutes *Blacktail Mountain Ski Area - 39 miles, 72 minutes From the back deck you can see all the way down the Swan Mountain Range, you have an epic view of Flathead Lake as well as the whole Flathead Valley all the way up to Whitefish! On a clear day you can even see the mountains of Glacier National Park. And the backdrop to the house is the beautiful Peter's Ridge Bowl. High Rock sits on a very secluded 20 acres and connects to MT Forest Service Land, which is available to the public for hiking and recreation. You can hike and explore right off the porch. There is live water on the property, Peters Creek runs across the Eastern end of the Property. The house is perched atop one of the lower ridges or foothills of the Rocky Mountain Range that borders the East side of the Flathead Valley, giving you some of the best views around and making it very accessible to town and all of the key locations you will want to visit while there. High Rock is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath "Montana Modern" home featuring double Master en-suites. Each of the upstairs masters have king size beds, resort quality luxury Egyptian-cotton linens, private bathrooms and their own private walk-out balconies with Adirondack chairs... a perfect place to have that morning cup of coffee or a quiet spot to get away and read a book or relax. There is a 3rd bedroom downstairs that has a queen size bed also with luxury Egyptian Cotton linens. This room has it's own sitting room connected to it that leads out to the back deck. The final, and one of the best, features of the house is the kids bunkroom! The Bunkroom has 3 daybeds with trundles and can comfortably sleep up to 6 kids. There is a big screen TV with DVD player for them, a game cabinet and the bunkroom also has a kids dining area just in case you want to have some grown-up meals in the main part of the house. It is perfect because the kids are close, but not too close and there is plenty in there to keep them entertained so everyone can enjoy their time. This is a perfect house for a larger group or up to 3 families to share. The rest of the house is an open format; kitchen, living and dining all in one area. The best part about this area of the house is the huge bank of windows, floor to ceiling, on the Western facing wall of the house! You have breathtaking views from the kitchen, dining area and living room! The kitchen is large and fully stocked with all pots, pans, dishes and even you will need to cook and make meals. The dining table seats 8 people and there is room for four more at the counter-top bar in the kitchen. The living room features beautiful modern decor and a rock fireplace that is wood burning. Firewood is there and ready for you to build a fire and cozy up with a soft blanket and the beverage of your choice. If additional assistance is required by the caretaker, his time is billed directly to the renter at the rate of $35/hour per person.
