The 'Sconset Market, a wine store, Claudette's Sandwich shop, and three fine restaurants are all within a five minute walk or less. Generally these businesses open just before Memorial Day and close in mid-late September or October. The beach is about a four minute walk from the house. And the main stop for the Nantucket jitney bus is right at the flagpole. The bus runs year ‘round. The Nantucket jitney bus and bicycles are a great way to get around the island. You do not have to have a car, but of course, a car gives you much more flexibility. The Nantucket jitney bus runs three times an hour (Late May through Labor Day.) and once an hour for the rest of the year. Bicycles can be rented in Nantucket Town.
