Description
This peaceful Mountain Lodge sits atop a private hill following the Kaweah River, minutes from Sequoia Nat’l Park. From the moment you arrive you'll take a deep breath and just relax; well-appointed, fun and comfortable! After a great day exploring the Sierra Nevada, you'll relish this time to toast with your friends & family around the fire, chilling out on the deck surrounded by mountains or in the outdoor dining room with the river humming in the background as it's done for 1000s of years. The space The Running River Lodge is a wonderful space to share with friends & family alike—there's a deeply relaxing energy in the canyon. As you reach the top of the driveway, you'll see a small building directly ahead with a sign that says "Sierra Vista Casita". On your right you'll see a larger property with a plaque that says "Running River Lodge" and a "Welcome" sign on the wooden gate. This is the Lodge entrance. While both properties shall the same private hill, each is completely private, each with its own entrance and outdoor spaces. As described elsewhere, there is one space per residence. If you have an additional vehicle, park along the side of the driveway. A favorite pastime is enjoying a quiet morning coffee or a sunset cocktail on the soothing porch swing. The wraparound deck has several areas to chill out while taking in the surrounding mountains. There are different spaces for gathering and dining: the “breakfast nook” counter seating around the kitchen, and an outdoor screened-in dining area with lighting, etc. There's a game drawer with puzzles and card games, before or after dinner and for chilly months there’s an overhead heater that keeps everything nice and toasty. This is a great hang-out area that is loved by guests! Inside, there's a cozy living room, with a smart TV (Netflix) and a large stone wood-burning fireplace. The Lodge has two private bedrooms, queen beds, soft linens, a closet, extra seating and deck access. Each has blackout drapes as well. Both are unique, each with their own charm. You'll also enjoy cooking on the electric grill or in the full KITCHEN—refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, basics like olive oil, spices and of course coffee and tea. Help yourselves to anything useful. There is a roomy shared bathroom with a tub/shower combo and a second standing shower, loads of soft towels, body wash, shampoo & conditioner. Make sure to turn on the diffuser; fill with water & add a few drops of lavender oil. Utilizing tandem doors, one bedroom opens en suite style while other guests enter from the hallway if unlocked. A 5th person would sleep on the large leather sofa—clean linens are located in a large basket in the back bedroom closet. Please return when done. Feel free to ask me anything... ALL Seasons are SPECIAL! Guest access You’ll have access to the entire Lodge and surrounding decks, as well the table near the fountain in the front that is shared with the Casita. The Casita has a private backyard. Other things to note I send out instructions at the beginning of every month. If you'd like them sooner just ask! FIREWOOD: In season, I supply local wood for approximately one evening. You can purchase more in town. The market is best for food stuff, but Shell gas station and market is best for wood. You can also bring your own wood, of course, just pile it outside! Pine is cheaper but burns 3x faster than hardwood like oak. So if you pick up grocery store wood, be sure to get more than you think you’ll need! GROCERIES: we have local markets but you might want to stop in nearby Visalia before coming as prices are definitely lower. There is a full-sized refrigerator with freezer. WEATHER and Park access: CHECK SEKI WEBSITE for updates as the Sierras can be unpredictable! It does not snow at our level, but it definitely does up in the park. The deck railings are NOT child proof.
