Walk to Urban Cowboy for a drink, hike "Giant Ledge" just down the road. 1 mi to Full Moon, antiques, restaurants, spas, golf all nearby. House & grounds are a fun destination all on their own. Outfitted with vintage & locally-sourced antiques, puzzles & games; 2 fireplaces, outdoor deck with BBQ. Grounds feature Wi-Fi, firepit, & a 3-season "Writers’ Cabin.” The space Excellent location with endless activities- you will not want to leave! Just 13 min to Belleayre Mountain for skiing, and all season activities. Within 20 min, enjoy Pheonicia, Margaretville, get a massage, hike, visit a brewery or distillery, shop for antiques and enjoy excellent restaurants. Drive a little further to enjoy Woodstock, and kayaking. At the Haus, enjoy an evening beverage in the Tavern Room, the high speed wifi throughout the property, or connect to Sonos speakers throughout the first floor of the home and on the deck and listen to your favorite music. Admire our collection of 37 beer steins and find all 26 gnomes throughout the property. Brew a great cup of coffee with our "Grind and Brew" Cuisinart coffee maker while watching the hummingbirds on the deck or listen to the small waterfall while having s’mores by the firepit. Behind the chalet, up on the hillside, you will find the 3-season Writers' Cabin, perfect as a quiet place to relax. The Writers' Cabin has electricity, but no heat or running water. There is a futon that folds out into a full size bed for a quiet nap. There's also a drafting table by the window, and space for yoga or meditation. The house is equipped with central AC and a generator, newly renovated kitchen with Bosch dishwasher, Samsung stove and refrigerator, washer/dryer, Apple TV, games, puzzles and DVDs. If you are visiting for work, there are workspaces available in 3 of the bedrooms and in the Writer's Cabin. Kitchen is well-stocked with the basics: coffee, oil, spices and everything you need to prepare a great meal. There is one large bedroom with a king bed and desk on the main floor with an attached full bathroom, and 3 bedrooms upstairs along with a second full bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a queen size bed, a desk and a TV. Two of the upstairs bedrooms are very small (see pictures). The middle bedroom has a pair of twin beds and the upstairs corner bedroom has a daybed and a roll-out trundle bed, and a desk. This listing has self-check-in, via a smart lock with a personalized code for each set of guests. Guest access Guests have access to most of our entire property, including the deck, patio, firepit area, the main house and the Writer's Cabin. However the garage, attic, basement and back shed will be locked and are not accessible to guests. Please note, must use a 4WD or AWD vehicle Dec. to March. Driveway is steep and can get icy. We have a plow and shoveling service in case of snow, but they may not arrive according to guests’ schedules. We provide shovels, sand and salt to be used as needed as well. The nearby homes are occupied, and we ask that guests do not trespass on our neighbors' property. There is what looks like a trail behind our home, and it leads to our neighbor's house. Please do not use this trail. Other things to note The chalet was built in 1936 and with that comes both charm and character. The upstairs bedrooms have sloping ceilings (see pictures). The property has high speed wifi, but there is no cell phone service in this area. Turn on your phone's "wifi calling" to make and receive calls and texts as usual while on the property. We gladly welcome guests that have earned at least 2 positive reviews and have no negative reviews on AirBnB. We do not accept 3rd party bookings. This listing is suitable for no more than 6 guests. Please reach out for special situations. Note, the cost per night adjusts depending on the number of guests after 2, so it’s important to enter an accurate number of guests when you’re searching, so that you see an accurate overall cost for the reservation. Please note, the house is decorated for Christmas (nothing religious) between the end of November to the end of January.
