Enjoy this secluded location for vacations or romantic get-aways. Located in sprawling Herefordshire countryside, with breath-taking views, and unrivalled privacy tucked away in the corner of a 10acre private estate. Located in the Wye Valley's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with views of the River Wye, Symonds Yat gorge, Coppett Hill Nature Reserve and The Doward, with views extending 20miles on a clear day, as far as the Malvern Hills. The space Greengage is a shepherd's hut located in a secluded area under trees and overlooking a small orchard, in a corner of the 10acre estate belonging to an imposing Georgian country house, dating from the early 1700s. The property has an unusual history. It was the birthplace of a campaign to caution joining the European Union in the 1970s, and was at one point the smallest full sized golf course in the UK - which explains some of the features of the parkland! The estate is a mini wildlife reserve - you may see badgers, deer, rabbits, foxes, peregrine falcons, Kites and owls at night. The estate is home to over 80 species of tree. Spread out before you is the beautiful Wye Valley and Symonds Yat Gorge. This landscape has been used for the filming of Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Star Wars, His Dark Materials, Killing Eve and Sex Education amongst others. The hot tub is available for use, free-of-charge all year round. At the end of each visit, the hot tub is completely drained, scrubbed and refilled with fresh water. We will provide wood and kindling free of charge, for use with the hot tub. We will also, if time allows, start heating the hot tub prior to your arrival, so that you will not have to heat it from cold (which takes 2-3hours). Guest access Located on the outskirts of Whitchurch, the location affords privacy and comfort, removed from the bustle of everyday life, but within very easy reach of major roads - no driving for miles on narrow country roads looking for your venue! The parking area is approximately 150metres from the location of the shepherd's hut. across grass, so be prepared for a short walk to/from the car, and obviously bring suitable footwear. Parking is provided on a long private driveway, well away from the main road. Other things to note Make sure you bring a torch if you are arriving after dark, as there are banks and slopes across the property. Torches are provided in the Shepherd's hut, if you need one during your stay. Electric vehicle charging point is available (3.6kW / 5kW /7.6kW) @ 40p/kWh during the day and 15p/kWh between 11.30pm and 5am - but must be arranged in advance of your visit to ensure it is available.
