Direct access to a sand beach where you will spot whales, dolphins and other wildlife or simply admire the sunset from the comfort of the patio. The space This single level rustic beach house has 4 bedrooms, open plan kitchen and living area, garden overlooking the sea and dunes with a private staircase onto the beach! With enough space, you’re sure to find a quiet spot to enjoy the view, or a book, or simply a snooze with the sound of the ocean in the background. Still remaining rustic with a beach vibe, we do have wifi with battery back-up to ensure you are always connected. Other things to note A few ‘need to knows’ prior to packing your bags: BEACHFRONT LIVING We are a beach front house in a rural town. We do our best to keep the property well maintained and cared for but we cannot guarantee perfection. Things can go wrong as ocean living is harsh on a property. RAILWAY LINE There is a train that runs through the town. The Sishen–Saldanha railway line, also known as the Ore Export Line (OREX), is an 861-kilometre-long (535 mi) heavy-haul railway line in South Africa. It connects iron ore mines near Sishen in the Northern Cape with the port at Saldanha Bay in the Western Cape, and runs directly through the town of Elands Bay. It is the longest train in the southern hemisphere!!! Any guests that sleep lightly are asked to bring ear plugs, especially if sleeping in the 4th bedroom which is a garage conversion and is more exposed to outside noise. ELANDS BAY SHOPPING The town is very small and there are NO GROCERY SHOPS. Please do your full food and essentials shop before leaving Cape Town. You will be able to top up on bread, milk, braai meat and some limited wine and beer. FULL SELF CATERING We provide bed linen, bath towels and beach towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap plus salt, pepper and oil BUT please be warned we do not provide coffee, tea or sugar, sauces or spices so be sure to pack for a full self-catering vibe! MOSQUITOS Please bring your own plug in mosquito repellent if the mozzies love you! We do have ceiling fans which help keep them at bay however during load shedding the plug and fan will not be functioning and for this we do have repellent spray available in each room. WOOD Wood for the braai and hot tub can be purchased from our host in advance.
