Moira Lake Sunset Escape Lakefront Cottage

Our cottage sits on a gentle slope, just above a gorgeous lakefront. West views offer breathtaking sunsets and every space has been designed to take advantage of the serene lake view. Enjoy relaxation and amazing entertainment spaces to dine, lounge and relax while taking in the view from multiple decks, two fire tables, on the dock, inside our acrylic dome or or in the hot tub! No wi-fi but you won't miss it. The space Our A Frame cottage is located at the end of a quiet lane, is open concept with amazing views of sunsets and nature. It has two bedrooms with double beds, one 3pc washroom and a sleeping loft above the kitchen with a queen bed. Only 2.5 hours from Toronto, 35 mins to Belleville, and 15 mins to Tweed and Madoc. ---------- The Interior: An entire wall of windows face views of the lake, allowing for gorgeous views from every space within the cottage. The two bedrooms are separated by the washroom, with a third sleeping space in the loft above the kitchen. A large living area with smart TV, cozy sectional by the wood burning fireplace, dining table for 6, and a large modern kitchen with dishwasher round out the living spaces. Bedroom 1: has lake views and 1 double bed. Bedroom 2: has forest views and 1 double bed. Open Loft: has 1 Queen bed but is open to below and under a sloped ceiling. Not recommended for kids. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including all pots, pans, cooking utensils, plates, silverware and a dishwasher. Enjoy views of the lake from the sink and kitchen island, make waffles for breakfast with the supplied waffle iron, or just enjoy a relaxing cup of tea or coffee. The living area has a smart TV so you can hot spot yourself and stream on rainy days or bring DVDs and use the provided BluRay player. Games, puzzles and cards are also supplied if something less digital is wanted. There is a separate seating area with large sectional for cozy nights or early mornings beside a wood burning fireplace. We have a set supply of logs and kindling, but should you need more, a grocery store is less than 15 mins away in the town of Madoc. A dining table for 6 is the perfect place to enjoy all family meals and is located just off the kitchen. There is a wall AC/heater unit in the main spaces, fans/space heaters for bedrooms and lovely cross ventilation if all windows are opened to capture breezes off the lake. There is level access to the first deck off the living room, so no tricky steps down while carrying drinks or food. There is one step into the cottage from the driveway. ---------- The Exterior: The cottage is wifi free but layered decking and a unique acrylic dome, along with multiple fire tables, seating areas, a hot tub, dock with canoes, & BBQ offer an abundance of outdoor enjoyment. Deck 1: This is the same level as the main living areas inside the cottage and offers sofas and arm chairs for seating, a 4 person dining table, BBQ and all storage boxes for the outdoor cushions. Deck 2: Attached to deck 1 and accessed by a small set of stairs, it has a sectional with fire table and hot tub. The tiered design allows for unobstructed lake views off both decks. This is our favourite place to capture all the gorgeous sunsets! Deck 3: This is located down a staircase from deck 1 and is ground level, nestled into the treeline on one side of the cottage. It has our acrylic dome with Muskoka chairs for relaxing bug free while still being able to enjoy 360 degree views. LED lighting is integrated into the dome for a cool atmosphere at night, but while dark, it's the perfect place to stargaze with loved ones. Deck 4: Closest to the lake and dock, this glass fronted deck has a shaded sitting area with Muskoka chairs and a fire table, bar table and stools for lakeside dining and fun! Dock: Our dock has a small seating area and views out to stunning sunsets across the lake. Two canoes with paddles and life jackets are provided. There are a few weeds that are cut a few times a year but otherwise make for great fishing off the end of the dock. We supply two poles, just bring your bait! ---------- Madoc and Tweed are two small towns that have a charm all of their own. There are pick-your-own berry farms and beaches for fun day trips, but the major draw of this area is our beautiful lake. Come and relax, unwind and enjoy quality time with your loved ones and nature. And of course, the sunsets! Guest access You will enjoy full and private access to all areas of the cottage. Entry is remote and there will be no one other than your loved ones with you for the duration of your trip. Other things to note No Wifi. Animals considered. The cottage is not the most kid friendly space due to the tiered design of the decks and open loft, multiple fireplaces, shower only, and the steps to the lake. Please be mindful. Madoc is a tiny town close by and is the closest place to buy groceries but also has a bakery, LCBO, Beer Store, hardware store and a few limited shops and restaurants. Prepare for mosquitoes and other outdoor insects, we are on a tree filled lot and, unfortunately, cannot control their presence. Bug spray can be found at the cottage in case you forget yours!
