Relax with friends and family in our traditional Pocono Mountain chalet, located just 2 hours from NYC and 2 hours from Philadelphia. While the chalet is located in a peaceful conservation community by the lake, you will be central to all the adventures offered in the Poconos including Camelback, Big Boulder, Kalahari, Mt Airy, Jim Thorpe, Pocono Raceway, multiple hikes, restaurants, the Pocono farmer's market and more! The main entrance to the chalet brings you directly into a sunny four-season room with elevated views of surrounding mature trees, a lovely place to gather with friends, play a board game or read a book. There is a brook that runs next to the house most of the year; if it's full you can enjoy the water sounds. From the four-season room you enter into the main living area with an open floor plan. We have a 7 seat dining room table, kitchen and living room. Central to the living room is a gas fireplace which you can enjoy while enjoying a meal with family or friends at the dining table or while relaxing on the couch. The kitchen is stocked with basic kitchen tools including dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, coffee grinder, pots, pans, utensils, cups and mugs. Past the kitchen is a full bathroom and then two bedrooms, each with a closet. Both bedrooms are equally sized, one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds. Both have window A/C units during summer months. Upstairs is a loft space, also great for lounging. There is a desk stationed at the window for those needing to do some work during their stay. Off the loft space is the large master bedroom and full master bath. From the bedroom you can walk out the sliding glass doors to a small balcony overlooking a wooded backyard, a great place to drink your morning coffee and maybe spot grazing deer. **Please note: Master bedroom does not have window A/C units due to one being unable to be installed in the sliding door to the balcony. We have window units in both 2nd level beedrooms. We have highly effective air circulators and fans throughout the house. Guest access The whole chalet is yours to enjoy with the exception of the garage and a locked closet because they contain cleaning and restocking supplies. Other things to note The chalet is located in a wooded conservation community with two lakes. Lake Kathryn is for fishing only and lake Guenevere allows fishing, swimming, canoeing, and kayaking. The beach is open for swimming from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Make sure you bring the guest pass as you will occasionally be asked to show it to security. Fishing is catch and release only and you will need a valid fishing license! The host does not guarantee any of the community amenities as they are run by the community and not the hosts. There are tennis courts for use next to lake Kathryn and a volleyball court in the recreation area next to the beach on lake Guenevere. No fireworks are allowed. There are many full-time residents in this community and we respect our neighbors - when staying at the chalet, please remember this is their home. We enforce strict quiet hours and prohibit parties. Propane Grill - located on the deck and propane is provided. There is a tank under the grill and a full spare is available if needed. Snow removal - we get a lot of snow in the winter. The township plows the main road in the community and a plowing service comes to plow the driveway if there are 5 or more inches of snowfall.
