Historic Farmhouse on a Lavender Farm
Historic Farmhouse on a Lavender Farm
Description
Escape to the countryside in the charming farmhouse at Tuscan Farm Gardens. Explore our flower gardens and lavender rows, read by the fire, cook in the farm kitchen of your dreams, or enjoy a soak in the claw-foot tub with our handmade botanical spa products. There's a private study for work and a covered garden patio for relaxing. You'll love being surrounded by nature on this stunning property featured in many films. Located in beautiful Mt Lehman, less than an hour from Vancouver. The space The farmhouse was built in the late 1800's. Recently renovated, it combines modern comfort with original details like exposed brick, shiplap walls, and antique chandeliers. The house is filled with antiques, photographs, art, and fresh or dried botanicals in season, expressing a love of nature, design and the story of this home that has sheltered generations of families. The kitchen features a stunning La Cornue range, farmhouse sink, wood plank ceiling, and reclaimed wood shelves. It is equipped with a dishwasher, espresso maker, toaster, blender, mixer, and samples of our lavender teas. The main floor has an open plan with a dining room, a living room with a fireplace and a smart tv, a secluded study, a bathroom/laundry room with a washer and dryer, and a mudroom for your boots when you come in from exploring the farm. Just off the kitchen there is a large outdoor covered patio set in a private garden with a pond and wisteria arbour. There is a wooden table and chairs for dining, and comfortable chairs around a propane fire. At night, patio lights sparkle overhead and reflect in the pond, inviting you to spend long, leisurely evenings outdoors (patio is available in spring, summer and fall.) A note for families: since the pond is one step away from the patio and is not fenced, this area is not safe for children. EV charger available on request. Upstairs, there are four cosy bedrooms and two bathrooms. The Garden Suite has a king size bed with a Canadian-made, plant-based Haven mattress and linen bedding. A large window looks out over the gardens. The small private bathroom is luxurious and modern with heated tile floor, a huge shower, linen towels, and complimentary spa products. The main bathroom is shared with the other three bedrooms. It also has a heated tile floor, large shower, and an original cast iron clawfoot tub where you can enjoy a relaxing bath with natural spa products made here on the farm. Lavender Room: queen bed Vintage Rose Room: queen bed Treetop Room: two twin beds Good to know: This is a historical farmhouse, so there are some squeaky floors upstairs. You may also occasionally hear a train in the distance. The Farm: In spring, you'll see tulips and wisteria and watch the gardens start to come alive. In approximately mid-June to mid August our thousands of fragrant lavender plants bloom. In fall, enjoy the many dahlias in the gardens and the brilliant foliage of the spectacular maple tree right outside your windows. Winters are perfect for reading, doing puzzles or chatting in front of the fire, or you could watch one of the many Christmas movies filmed on our property (we have a full list, and many are available to watch for free). We love to get outside in every season, so bring warm clothes and boots for long walks around the farm and our rural neighbourhood (you'll find sheep, horses, cows and llamas!) We share our farm with cats, chickens, and bees. Guest access A minimum age of 21 is required to book. The rental of the farmhouse includes the entire farmhouse, free parking, your own private covered garden patio and yard, and free admission to the gardens during your stay. The rental of the farmhouse does not include the use of the farm or farmhouse for events such as showers, weddings, parties, photoshoots, etc. To add any kind of event at the farmhouse or farm to your rental, please email Tuscan Farm Gardens for booking details. You will have your own space, on a shared property: our family lives and works here, and our house is close by, across the driveway from the farmhouse. In June and July, the farm and cafe are open to visitors during open hours, and we host a few weddings here each season. However, even when visitors are at the farm, the farmhouse patio and yard are still private, and not available for public access. During our lavender season you are invited to visit our farm shop, where you can purchase our handmade products and lavender ice cream, lemonade, lattes, scones and other delicious treats.
