Ever wanted to chuck it all and buy a farm? We did in 2010 and now want to share it with you. The "Dell" sits at the entrance to Double Z Land & Livestock, a working farm owned and operated by The Abbruzzese family. Rolling hills, open fields, and grazing farm animals grace this 75-acre farm. If you want a glimpse of country life, seek to switch up your work-from-home routine, or just want to get away, come take up residence on the farm. If it's lambing season, you might even see some babies ;) This light-filled, newly built, 3-bedroom residence sits on an edible landscape featuring high-bush blueberries, pear, apple, and peach trees. The second-story balcony overlooks pasture and corn fields. Watch the sun go down as our flock of Katahdin sheep graze under the watchful eye of Trinity, our guard llama. Grass-fed lamb, chicken, or ready-made beef dinners can be bought on-site to take-home or for immediate consumption. Because we are a working farm, we are happy to introduce you to the animals or even consider something more immersive like collecting eggs, bucking hay, or moving livestock to fresh grass. The "Dell" is 10-miles north of Bates College in Lewiston, 43-miles from Portland's bustling Old Port, and 153-miles from Boston. Parking is available on-site. This is a great choice for experiencing rural New England within 2.5 hours of Boston. Water sports, hiking, and winter sport opportunities abound. Skiers can get to Sunday River in 60-minutes and Sugarloaf in 90-minutes. If you snowmobile or cross country ski, access to "Loop Trail #35" can be found a few steps from your front door. Maintained by the Turner Ridge Riders Snowmobile club, this trail connects trails from Auburn to Livermore and Buckfield alongside Turner's scenic Androscoggin River. Feel free to contact us through the AirBNB app. Welcome to farm country - you'll find we are sandwiched between dairy and beef cattle farms. You are in a rural community and therefore will need a vehicle, 4-wheeler, or snowmobile to pretty much go anywhere. Uber: in-bound is okay; however you won’t find rides outbound. PARKING INSTRUCTIONS There is private parking in front of the house, for up to 3-vehicles. Be careful to stay within the driveway as the shoulder across the driveway is soft. Owners Chris and Kate Abbruzzese also own and operate Fireworks Mobile Wood Fired Pizza. Schedule permitting, they could be engaged to cater a pizza dinner in the pasture.
