The space The Villa was born out of our desire to showcase Agra like never before. We are Agra's first and only boutique villa only 2kms from the Taj. We welcome our guests and their pets too. Every aspect of the villa is adapted from the city of the Taj – from our rooms decorated with inspiration from the monuments, to our kitchen that serves food inspired by the homes of Agra. No Smoking ~ About the Villa ~ 1. The Room Know as the Grand King with Balcony, this is a luxurious 450 sqft room with a large balcony and a panoramic window over looking the gardens in the back. The name 'Grand king' comes from the extra large 84"x78" bed with a 12 inch Euro top mattress, you will find only in the super luxury hotels like the Oberoi. The bed comes with high thread count, super fine, pure cotton bed linen. Everything in the room has been patiently handmade and painstakingly curated, from the designer bed, to the ceramic electric kettle, to the light fixtures. The room is decorated with authentic Mughal art, local handicrafts and carpets. Instead of a TV, we have 40 inch canvas prints of some of the most beautiful scenes of the city. In our effort to reduce single use virgin plastic, water is served in refillable water bottles and the toilets come in refillable bottles with organic handmade toiletries. Toilet paper is made of recycled paper. 2. The Villa We are a 12 bedroom villa located in a peaceful neighborhood of Agra only 2kms from the Taj Mahal. The property is spread on 3 floors. Ground floor has a beautiful courtyard with a gravel garden with fountains and plants. It also has the entrance, reception, dining room and the kitchen. The 1st and 2nd floor have bedrooms and a spacious living room with a small library and the 3rd floor has a large rooftop and store. The design and décor of the villa is a modern interpretation of classic Mughal architecture and design. It has been inspired by the beautiful monuments of the city, especially the Pietra dura inlay work of the Itmad-ud-Daula or the Baby Taj. From the furniture, to the uniforms of the team, to the paintings, to the books in our library, everything have been painstaking & patiently curated for the property. 3. Our Kitchen Travel is incomplete without good food. And we understand your need to taste something new, something local, something unique. The dishes on our menu are rooted in the local kitchens of Agra, curated from our own childhood memories and after long discussions with our aunts, grandmothers and local foodies. ~ 'Pattal ki Dawat' Our kitchen is famous for the traditional 'Pattal ki Dawat' or leaf plate platter comprising of local dishes, served on a betel nut leaf plate with pottery bowls and cups. This is a traditional style of serving a meal which you will not find anywhere else in Agra and maybe India too. The dishes are a selection of homemade style local favorites and seasonal preparations. All ingredients are sourced locally, fresh and ethically. We also have a menu with international and local favorites like pizzas, burgers, salads and sandwiches. ~ Breakfast We serve a delicious breakfast menu with local specialties like Aloo Bedwain(Potatoes curry and deep friend flat bread), Parathas and international favorites like eggs to order, pancakes along with fresh homemade cakes, fresh fruits, Indian single estate coffee and select teas. Breakfast is NOT included in the booking price. 4. Location We are located conveniently only 2 kms from the Taj Mahal on the Fatehabad road, in the heart of the hospitality district of Agra. When you come from the Taj Expressway we are one of the first properties in the city just after the Jaypee and opposite the Trident and the Marriott. Along with other sights like Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-Daula, we are also located very close to the best cafes, restaurants and shopping in the city. The famous Panchhi Peetha store is about 1 kms from the villa. However, if you are looking for something authentic then we recommend Gopaldas Pethewale, Agra’s original 120 year old Petha shop, also about 1.5kms from us. 4. Reach us Road: We are easily reached by road from the Taj Yamuna Expressway, the old Delhi Agra highway or the Lucknow Agra Expressway. Rail: Agra is a major railway hub and multiple trains ply from all major cities in the north of India and other parts of the country. Agra Cantt and Agra Fort are the main railway stations of the city. Bus: Buses ply from all Major towns in the north, including Volvos and luxury coaches. Air: Kheria Airport has recently started flights from some major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and more. At present, about 35 domestic flights depart from Agra Airport weekly 6. Parking There is on-street parking available outside the villa. Cars cannot be parked inside the villa complex. If you want more secure parking, then we can have it parked inside the colony next to the villa. 7. Environment Policy. We are committed to the planet and running a socially and environmentally sustainable business. Following are some of the things we do to do our bit for our planet. 1. No Single-use virgin plastic bottles: We don’t provide plastic water bottles, plastic straws or use and throw bath amenities. Only refillable glass or PET bottles are used Ekaa. 2. Local hiring and sourcing: All of our staff is hired locally and we do most of our sourcing locally or within 50kms of the city except the items that are not found locally. 3. Rain-water harvesting for all rain water catchment in the building. 4. All LED lights fixtures and inverter technology VRV air-conditioning systems in the property for low and intelligent consumption of electricity. Energy efficient water heaters in all bathrooms. 5. Provision for solar panels to convert the property into Energy neutral with in 18 months of operations. ~ House Rules ~ 1. Check in & Check out Check in is at 13:00 and Check out is at 10:00. Please adhere to the timings, late check out and early check in is subject to charge. 2. Pets Dogs and other pets are welcome(cats not allowed). Pets are NOT allowed in the beds or on the furniture. Owners are responsible for any damage caused by their pets and are required to clean after their pets. Dogs & pets need to be on a leash or in their box at all times when they are outside the room or in the common areas. Please bring their food, bedding and feeding bowls. Food for dogs is chargeable at cost @Rs 150/meal. We don't have any pets living at the property permanently. 3. No Smoking Rooms, bathrooms, common room, gallery and stairs are strictly non smoking. You can use the balconies and the rooftop smoking area. The villa is located in a residential neighborhood only 2kms from the Taj Mahal and close to all other sights of Agra. When you enter the city from the Taj Expressway, we are one of the first property in Agra after the Jaypee hotel. We have street parking available outside. Cars cannot be parked inside the villa. If you want more secure parking, then we can have it parked inside the colony next to the villa. Other things to note We are a villa with 12 rooms and besides the rooms all other areas as shared with guests. All rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floor without lift.
