Elegant Cotswold Retreat with Garden & Fireplaces

This characterful cottage in the heart of Painswick offers a calm and comfortable place to stay. Interiors are thoughtfully finished, with exposed beams, limestone-framed windows, two fireplaces and carefully chosen furnishings that respect the building’s character. A generous garden provides space to unwind outdoors. Children, infants and well-behaved pets are welcome. Pubs, cafés and countryside walks are all close by for an easy, unhurried Cotswolds stay. The space The cottage sleeps six in three double bedrooms, with two bathrooms and two separate entertaining rooms: one, a cosy sitting room/dining room with a log burning stove, the other a formal entertaining room with views of the church at the front and across the beautiful bailey to the rear, with a feature inglenook fireplace with log effect stove. On the ground floor, opposite the cosy sitting room, is a fully fitted bespoke country kitchen. On the first floor, a double bedroom with fitted cupboards plus a bathroom with a shower inset to the bath. The second living room is situated on this floor, and features an honesty bar - here we offer the chance for you to enjoy a selection of spirits we have provided, whilst also giving you another added feel-good factor - all donations made by you for the drinks you make are given to Emmaus, a local homelessness charity. If you plan to make use of our honesty bar, please bring your own mixers. The top floor offers two double bedrooms with beamed ceilings, served by another bathroom featuring a free-standing bath. Outside the rear garden, the area is protected by a high wall and hedges, with a patio, a clematis-clad arbour with a table and chairs, a separate pair of wicker chairs and a low table, and a south-facing, sun-trap area. Parking is free on the street, and there is a free car park in the village available to guests. The car park is a short walk away from the house, and it takes you through the churchyard—a lovely short walk to start your stay!
