Description
The cottage is a lovely grade II, listed, historic, thatched cottage. It's in a conservation area which is also in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are lots of great local country walks. It’s also a central base to visit all that Dorset has to offer; from beaches and beauty spots to country towns. The Crown pub is in the centre of the village, only 5 minutes walk away. Our Sports and Social Club has a a bar and play equipment. It is on the left at the north end of the village The space The cottage is self-contained. It comprises a large living and dining room with a TV, DVD player and sound system. The kitchen has a seating area and there is a separate utility room with a downstairs toilet/ washroom. Upstairs there is a large master bedroom with a king sized bed and TV , a twin room that has zip and link beds that can be turned into a queen sized bed. The third bedroom is a very small single room but has an adult size bed. There is a large roll top bath and a shower ( 6ft in height) and a toilet and washbasin upstairs. In keeping with a 17th century cottage, please note, we have LOW BEAMS, ceilings and doorways and some changes of floor levels in the cottage. There are steps on the bank outside to enter. We provide a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and locally made biscuits. Because we are a thatched property, unfortunately we cannot have barbecues in the garden. For bookings of two days or less we charge £10 per person for towels. Please bring your own towels unless you would like me to provide them. Guest access All of the property. We leave a key in a key safe. Other things to note We have low beams and doorways. The shower is 6ft tall. There is a small but fairly DEEP POND in the rear garden. Parents of toddlers and young children please be aware to keep the lattice gate to the rear garden closed and bolted. The kitchen patio and patio seating is for the use of guests, as is the front garden and its seating. You are welcome to share the back garden with us. For short stays ( 2 days or less) please bring your own towels (apart from hand and tea towels). Linen is provided. Towels are available at an extra charge of £10 per person.
