Swathes of colourful flowers line the pretty approach to the villa, and the track leads to ample parking to the fore of the property. The charm and character of Villa Punxa is immediately apparent, as the delightful rural setting and the stone-built villa greet you. Inside, the welcoming beamed and tiled kitchen features a walk-in panty and is fitted with a dishwasher, oven & hob, fridge-freezer. In the corner is a feature fireplace, whilst the table and chairs provide for a casual breakfast spot. The spacious living-dining room is tastefully furnished, with simple Mallorcan decor, ceramics and paintings, and a large dining table easily seating 6. Cosy sofas surround the fireplace and offer a comfortable place to kick back after a day exploring the surrounding area. Stairs lead up from the dining area to the first floor, where there are two twin bedrooms and one double. All three are simply and traditionally furnished and share a good sized full bathroom. To the front of the villa, and also accessed directly from the living room, is an impressive large terrace with colonnade and vine pergola. This is a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the surroundings. There is a further covered terrace, which provides a shady spot when needed, housing a built-in Bbq and wood burning oven, as well as another shower room that can easily be used direct from the pool. The neatly kept lawn and the inviting pool sit amidst shady olive and lemon trees, and the gardens blend seamlessly into the surrounding countryside. A poolside lounger is the perfect place to enjoy the splendid setting of the mature trees and rugged mountainous backdrop to Villa Punxa. Despite this feeling of seclusion, the villa offers a Wi-Fi internet connection for guest’s use. The villa and pool is for your private use only as well as the garden. Vall de Pollenca, Mallorca The old road, through the beautiful Vall de Pollenca winds some 6 miles between the Pollenca Hills and the towering Tramuntana Mountains, connecting Campanet to the picturesque Old Town of Pollenca. These days the road, now surpassed by the faster motorway, is used more by cyclist than vehicular traffic. Singled out for its beauty by the rich and famous the hillsides are discreetly scattered with rambling top notch villas, amongst which our Pollenca Villas are tucked away enjoying this unsurpassed location from their more modest accommodation. The village of Campanet, situated on the edge of the green and wooded foothills of the Tramuntana Mountains, one claim to fame is its amazing limestone caves, said to house the longest stalactite in the world! It also makes a good starting point for an exhilarating drive to the mountain top Monastry at Lluc via the picturesque village of Caimari. Amongst the village’s narrow streets are no less than three bakeries, as well as a well-stocked supermarket and a delicatessen just what you need close to our Villas in Pollenca to rent. The sunny church square has a number of simple bars and small shops and it’s a pleasant spot to linger over a morning coffee and sugary ensaimada before heading off for the day. There are also two or three bars that serve authentic tapas or simple meals, but the village has surprisingly remained a peaceful backwater, virtually untouched by tourism. At the other extreme of the valley, the picturesque old town of Pollenca has learned to accept and tastefully adapt to tourism so that at the vibrant Sunday morning market spilling out over the Placa Major, locals and tourists alike mingle between the wide varieties of stalls. Wandering through the narrow cobbled streets you will find many lovely old churches plus numerous small art galleries and handicraft shops. A pause for coffee and a pastry is recommended before climbing the tree lined Calvari steps- there are 365 of them, one for every day of the year – amply rewarded at the summit by panoramic views across to the northernmost tip of the island from the Calvari church! You will find a number of outstanding restaurants as well as small tapas bars tucked away behind the impressive central square. For serious shoppers, the town of Inca, famous for its leather goods and with some excellent cellar restaurants, is a 20 minutes drive. For a hassle free visit to Palma you can catch a train from Sa Pobla, 10 mins drive away. The nearest beaches at Puerto Pollenca or the Pollenca Bay side of the Alcanada peninsular are approx. 20 minutes drive. The Pollenca Golf Course is less than a 15 min drive away.
