The Big Beach Shack is just steps from New Brighton’s dog-friendly beach, the Brunswick River, and a nearby nature reserve—all with plenty of restaurants and cafés close by. The house offers ample space for the whole family, with plenty of places to unwind—whether it’s on one of the many daybeds or hammocks—while soaking in the sea breeze and the sound of the waves. The space We’re not hoteliers—this is our family home. But we are experienced hosts and do our best to ensure our guests have a wonderful stay. The main house is a fully functional family home featuring a gourmet kitchen, spacious yard, and a large deck perfect for entertaining. This listing is for the main house includes as pictured upstairs only, which sleeps up to 10 guests in five large, comfortable beds. The master bedroom is a spacious parents’ retreat with its own balcony and a luxurious bathroom, including a two-person spa. This home is ideal for large families, groups of friends, or grandparents joining for the holidays. There’s plenty of room to relax, socialise, or enjoy some quiet time alone. The property is fully fenced and has easy access, with a generous backyard perfect for volleyball, badminton, soccer, or outdoor dining. It also includes a fire pit, large entertaining area, BBQ, and equipment for a variety of yard games. Please note: Some furnishings have been updated since the photos were taken. All beds are extremely comfortable—including four Tempur beds. Enjoy the sounds of the sea and local wildlife from the back deck. Important: This is not a party house or area! No parties are permitted at the property. Each room has a newly installed ceiling fan, and thanks to the ocean breeze, the home stays cool and comfortable year-round—even in summer. We’ve never needed air conditioning, and many guests comment on how pleasantly cool the house remains. The furnishings and décor are a mix of coastal chill, vintage charm, and mid-century eclectic treasures, with a cozy fireplace for winter. The expansive deck comfortably accommodates a large group for dining and entertaining, with extra daybeds and sun loungers for relaxing. The garden dining area and fire pit offer another great spot for gathering. This property truly suits the whole family. The beach is just a short walk down Dolphin Lane. Marshall Creek is perfect for floaties or SUP boards, and the rope swings into the river are always a hit with kids. You’ll also find world-class restaurants and live music bars just minutes away. No access in the garage or downstairs Other things to note We do not permit parties or events at the property. The main house includes five bedrooms, featuring two king beds and three queen beds. You also have the option to book the adjoining two-bedroom studio at a special combined rate—please see my other listings for details.
