For bird watchers, take a look at the pictures one of our guest took while staying here. There’s a full kitchen to use or grill outdoors. Enjoy an evening fire in the fire pit. Book your stay and fall in love with this gem!! MUST READ: IMPORTANT INFORMATION COZY MOUNTAIN CABIN NESTLED IN THE FOREST OF CLOUDCROFT, NM....Only about 3 minutes from the Village of Cloudcroft, yet secluded with only one neighbor, and backed up against National Forest ground. The best of both worlds with all the trails and wildlife you could hope for. Please read all about the space below. The space This listing states that this home fits 5 guests maximum. There is one king size bed, one full size bed (fits two small adults) and one twin bed. This cottage is only available for up to 5 Adults. We can accept six guests, because parents traveling with children. This is acceptable to us as long as it’s indicated on the reservation. Please note that someone may have to sleep on the couch. The property butts up against National Forest and is connected to walking and ATV trails that will take you all over the mountain, including over to the Old Train Trestle Bridge View Point. Just the kind of back yard that everyone loves. This Cabin also sits on a game trail where almost daily you get to enjoy everything from elk, deer and wild turkey (the non-liquid kind). With the deck around the cabin, it makes a perfect place to sit and enjoy these sites. The beautiful master suite has French doors that open onto the deck. Internet is provided. Absolutely NO SMOKING and no open flames is allowed inside the cabin. Smoking is allowed outside near the fire pit with buds left ONLY in the fire pit. This is a must! This cabin is in an area where we have to haul all the water that is used at the cabin. For this reason, we ask that all our guests be conscious about water conservation. Guests should be aware that there are a few steps in and around the cabin. As seen in the pictures, there are steps to the front door, but the inside of the home is on two levels; as such, there is a single step in multiple places. There are also steps up to the deck and down to the fire pit and there are no rails on these steps. There are no security gates for toddlers on any of the stairs/steps. Trip hazards are there so be careful. Guests should also be aware, since we are in the mountains, there is potential to come across dangerous wildlife as well as insects, bugs and critters. We do use essential oils throughout the cabin to help avoid the critters FYI, the last 500 ft of road that leads to our front door comes down a steep little hill and is a pretty rough, rocky road. Four-wheel drive is NOT necessary in summer months (as small cars drive this road) but you should be aware and drive slowly. See below for WINTER MONTHS. Just a note that this cabin is used as a second home by the owners so there are a few locked cabinets with their belongings. The master bedroom has drawers for your clothes and a cabinet to put your belongings on top of. The second bedroom has a luggage rack and both bedrooms have a shelf to hang clothing. There's also plenty of hooks around the cabin to hang your belongings. We ask that NO trash is to be left on site. There are large city containers provided throughout the town. There should always be plenty of trash bags for your use. WINTER POLICIES--The front steps may have snow and could be slippery. Guests are responsible for any clearing they want or need while they are there. As now shovel will be available. The outside deck is NOT recommended for winter use. Deck Stairs should NOT be used in the winter. There are slip hazards with the presence on snow. Snow fall can come in quickly with winter conditions. Most snows are of no significance, but there is always the chance that you can have a large snowfall that can shut things down for some period before roads can be cleared. We have no control and accept no responsibly for the weather or its consequences. Unless you have 4-wheel drive, you could be blocked in or out for some period of time. Guests may book and come at their own risk. PLEASE BE AWARE if you are traveling with toddler and young children THERE ARE OPEN FLAME HEATERS IN EVERY ROOM. AND THEY ARE HOT TO TOUCH. Thank you for reading all this and look forward to your stay! The entire cabin is available to you. Lot’s of stairs inside and out. Open flame heaters in every room except the bathroom. If you need anything at all please let us know right away. Great quiet neighborhood! The Cabin backs to forest land and there is ample parking. If you’re traveling with toddlers or young children be aware that the indoor propane heaters do have an open flame and are hot to touch. There are lots of stairs throughout the property as well
