La Casa del Ayer

Hello, I am La Casa del Ayer, a village house over 400 years old. I have been completely rehabilitated but respecting my essence. My stones and wooden beams transport you to another era. Good proof of my age is given by my Medieval Draught, about 8 meters under the house with a stone staircase and built in stone is my Cave or Draught. A place where time literally stops. Where you can relax and try one of the wonderful wines of La Rioja. The space I am located in the historic center of La Villa de Ábalos, in La Rioja. My facade is historic, with a 2-key shield on it. Built of stone masonry, my large walls perfectly insulate the house and in summer it is very cool inside. Downstairs is the kitchen, an old but very functional kitchen for you to cook your favorite recipes. From the kitchen, there is a stone entrance that leads to an 8-meter excavated staircase that descends to the medieval cave or cellar. This cave, built in the 16th century, maintains its stones and its vaults well cared for. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The Alcoba and El Altillo. The Alcoba is a bedroom for 2 people. It has a private room with armchairs, a stretcher table and a television. To relax after a day of visiting La Rioja. Going up the step and passing the canopy is the double bed, with a viscoelastic mattress that wraps around you. It has a private in-suite bathroom. With a hydromassage cabin, because tradition is not at odds with functionality. The Altillo, a family bedroom for 4 people. Ideal for coming with children. It has 2 double beds at 2 heights. Kids love to sleep in the top bed watching the stars through the roof window. Also upstairs there is a small room, with a reading corner. Let yourself be enveloped by the past, by the traditional. Our visitors define it as a "fairy tale house" for a reason. Guest access Full rental house. You have access to all areas of the home. The Medieval Calado has wines from the area. That you can buy for your consumption.
