“Sugar Maple” Rustic 4x4 Cabin Getaway, Fireplace

“Sugar Maple” Cozy Forest Cabin nestled in the woods of Vermont. 4x4 or AWD required in winter. The space Glamping at its best! Tranquil getaway on our 150 acre property located at Mt. Solitude in Southern Vermont. Sugar Maple greets you at the base of our mountain, nestled among the trees. Out the front door of the cabin you’ll find a manicured yard with a robust fire pit/grill combo and plenty of room to relax around the fire, let the dogs or kids run, and enjoy the quiet of the mountain. The cabin is fully insulated and offers solace year round. In the warmer months, keep the windows open and enjoy the fresh mountain air. November-April has fireplace will keep you warm as you watch the snow blanket the forest outside. Sugar Maple features a full sized memory foam mattress, handbuilt furniture, and a futon for lounging or sleeping friends/family. This rustic cabin is a great family or couples option. The kitchenette has a breakfast bar with a double burner camping cooktop, kettle, french press, mini fridge, and accessories like pots & pans. Water from our spring fed well is provided in a 2.5 gallon jug in the cabin, refillable via our shower house. The essentials are provided, all you need to do is bring your drinks, and food for a memorable weekend with friends or family. All of our facilities are *rustic*, though this cabin is newly built with rough sawn lumber- there is a port-o-poty just outside your cabin. Further up the driveway, a 2 min walk, there is a shared heated bathroom/shower building, the “Wash House”, with deep well drinkable water from the faucets, as well as a green summer shower and toilet building which has our camp logo painted on the front of it. When you get to the top of the driveway, turn around for a million dollar view of Mt. Monadnock and the Connecticut river valley below. The cabin has easy access to marked trails for hiking, a spring fed pond or pool for swimming (in season), colorful grounds to wander with various gardens, and enjoy the happy melody of native birds from sunrise to sunset. There is varying seasonal terrain just steps away. We run a wilderness summer camp throughout the height of summer season, and have ample space for others to come stay and explore on the shoulder seasons. Enjoy the fall foliage from our summit trail looking out on Mt. Monadnock, Governor’s Mountain, and the valley of the Connecticut river. In the winter, we have snow shoes available to rent (or bring your own!) and well marked trails. We’re only 35 mins to Mt. Snow and 1 hr to Okemo. We’re pet friendly! We have chickens who will adoringly eat any of your non-meat compost, and two friendly dogs on site. The charm of this property and your stay here are the tranquil forests, babbling streams, diverse wildlife, and ever changing seasonal landscape. Come melt away for a few nights, at this peaceful mountain getaway. Guest access In addition to your cabin you have access to a shared commercial multi-stall composting toilet building all year as well as a shared shower house . These buildings are a 3 min walk up the hill from Sugar Maple labeled “Wash House” or just past and up the trail another min are two green buildings with facilities. You’re welcome to sit on the deck or swim in our trout pond, just up the hill, and explore our trails and remote camping sites around the property. Pool access can be requested June-Aug and Hot Soaking Tub is shared and open throughout the year. Wood bundles can be purchased for $7, please let us know if you would like one and we can drop it off for you. Or you can collect dead fall from the surrounding forest as there is plenty of wood there. Other things to note We are in a very rural relaxed part of southern Vermont. Drive slow, enjoy the views, wave, and connect with others. It’s a quiet location with stunning views. We are only 6 miles to downtown Brattleboro with shops, co-op, theaters, and breweries. Hot tub is a soaking tub, no jets. Quiet hours 11pm-8am. Please refrain from taking wood from our stacked pile, we use that to heat our home during the winter. No entrance into buildings other than your own cabin, bathrooms, and shower house. No radios, Bluetooth speakers, or other speakers loud enough for other guests to hear. We are in the woods with purpose and so are you, soak up the sounds of the wilderness & its natural symphony. No fireworks, no glass bottles please. Park in your designated spot please. If additional parking is needed let us know and we can usually provide space in our lower staff lot. Please clean up after your pet, do not leave them unattended in the cabin.
