Welcome to The Barn! Peacefully nestled in the woods on the top of a beautiful ridge. Located directly off of Rt. 35, and only a mile off of US 322, gets you to State College or Harrisburg in around 45 minutes. With plenty around to do, we are only 10 minutes from the nationally known, Port Royal Speedway. Close to state parks, ski resorts, fly fishing, hiking and kayaking. And local Amish produce and wineries just down the road! The full kitchen is furnished with most everything you need if you enjoy whipping up a meal. But there's also plenty of great options around for eating out! Enjoy a cup of coffee on the small balcony off of the kitchen, and you might catch a glimpse of the wild turkey or the many deer around! Cozy under the covers in the upstairs loft, or if you're not into climbing ladders, open the queen couch bed downstairs and sleep in the warmth of the wood stove. (There is an extra 3" memory foam in the closet if you would like added comfort.) There are also extra linens, blankets, a floor cot, and pillows are in the closet for guest use! There is a 42" flatscreen, DVD player, WiFi and great cell service. Guests have access to the full kitchen, outdoor charcoal grill, bar area, picnic table, fire pit area and hot tub. One lean-to is private/locked for cleaning supplies. Feel free to take walks on the long driveway, hunt seasonal mushrooms, (there are many!) etc. We just ask that you kindly respect the neighbors and any posted property signs around. Pets are welcome at the Barn, but if your pet gets on furniture or beds, we ask that you kindly bring a blanket or sheet. This helps keep cleaning costs down. If there is extra cleaning because of excessive pet hair, I will request additional payment. The kitchen is supplied with cookware and utensils for “light” cooking. if you are planning to cook more extensively, you may need to bring a larger pot and your own necessities. We also do not supply any condiments. Firewood is supplied, but we do not provide fire starter/paper etc.. There is an ax there, as well as a lighter/ torch. Please note, because of the staircase and loft ladder, the space is not conducive to anyone (such as elderly or those needing special accommodations) who may have trouble navigating these. There is a charcoal grill at the barn for guests to enjoy. Charcoal is not supplied though, so be sure and bring some if you plan to grill!
