Stone Kiln Castle
Cozy up to the wood-burning fireplace of Stone Kiln Castle, circa 1920. This former "Tea House" (a.k.a. speakeasy) is an easy walk to restaurants, shops, farmer's market, train, and Jacob Burns Film Center. A half mile to Graham Hills Park (18 miles of mtn bike and hiking trails), 3/4 mile from Rockefeller State Park, and 50 mins by train to Grand Central Station. Chef's kitchen, with double oven, 6 burner stove with griddle. Screening room has a queen bed/sleeping nook. We'd be happy to text, call, or FaceTime with you anytime to help with anything you may need. Downtown Pleasantville is known for its excellent restaurants, coffee shops and brewery. Opperman's Pond is just a few blocks away and a lovely short level hike. When it freezes over there is also free ice skating there. Most people in town leave their doors unlocked. This is a safe area to walk alone at night. You can park in 4-5 cars in our driveway, but sadly not in the garage because it's 100+ years old, was a horse stable, and has a wood floor. There is also ample street parking on South View Street. Less than a 1/2 mile to the Metro-North Trains, the station is a short, easy walk, and a trip to Grand Central Terminal is 50 mins. There's also three convenience stores, a Key Food grocery store, a Dunkin' Donuts, and a good wine and liquor store within walking distance.
