Located on the edge of the beautiful Peak District village of Litton, Meadow View Heights is a recently refurbished one bedroom annexe, ideal for walkers & cyclists to explore the many paths straight from the door. The Red Lion serves great food & the local shop sells homemade and local goods are both 1/4mile away. The nearby village of Tideswell has more shops, pubs & cafes. Castleton, Chatsworth, Bakewell & Buxton are all within easy reach as well as stunning countryside walks & beauty spots. The space Meadow View Heights is a one bedroom property is at the end village of Litton with views onto open fields from the split barn door. We are definitely dog friendly! The property has one bedroom with a double bed and a view over the fields and sheep. There is open plan layout for the living / dining / kitchen areas giving it a specious feeling. (There are 3 steps down into the property.) The electric flame effect fire makes it extra cosy to relax and enjoy the satellite TV from the two two seater settees. (Includes SkySports, TNT Sports, Eurosport and iPlayer etc, plus Netflix, Prime, AppleTV etc with your own login.) The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a fridge, freezer, electric oven and ceramic hob, washing machine, toaster, microwave and kettle as well as a good range of kitchen utensils. There is a dining table and chairs to be able to plan your walks from the maps provided in the property. The bathroom has with large bath with an excellent shower over. There is also very good Wi-fi connection, USB connections in the kitchen and bedroom, as well as having central heating. Outside there is an enclosed and secure garden, with a patio area and planters as well as a table, garden chairs and bench. This south facing area looks out onto open countryside and provides a quiet area to enjoy the countryside. Please note that there are stone steps up to the footpath that leads to the garden and property entrance. The property is only 5 minutes walk to the Red Lion, our fabulous local pub, and the local shop. Other amenities are less than a mile away in Tideswell and include a post office, convenience store, greengrocer’s, cash machine, cafés and pubs. More information will be provided nearer to arrival. Dogs are welcome but they must have their own bedding and blankets. Doggie towels are provided for those really muddy paws! (We like to know what type of dogs as well.) We cannot accept any dogs currently listed on the dangerous dogs act. The countryside walks start literally straight from the front door with the footpath to Tansleydale and Cressbrook in one direction and Tideswell Dale and Millers Dale in the other direction. No car needed! Please bring a torch as it can be quite dark at the end of the village. But there are obviously so many other walks available, including Monsall Head, Mam Tor, Kinder Scout, Ladybower etc. Mike and Caroline are usually around to ask for local advice. The Peak villages of Castleton, Hope, Hathersage, Eyam, Baslow, Calver, and the market towns of Bakewell and Buxton are all within 15 minute drive, as well as the beautiful stately homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Other things to note Your bikes can be securely locked up at night in the garage. The Monsal Trail is just 2 miles away.
