Alyeska 2-Unit Chalet: Heart of Girdwood!

Enjoy your entire ski chalet in Girdwood/Alyeska for your retreat! Two private units, each with separate access, full kitchen, living room with TV, and a small bathroom. Upstairs unit has 3 bedrooms (2 Queen, 1 full) and a loft with mini fridge, microwave, and TV. Basic amenities provided. Open floor plan for entertaining. Great location, is walkable and free shuttle accessible. Mountain view from loft and living room. Pet-friendly ($30/nightly fee). Coin-op laundry; Self-check-in with lockbox. The space The entire upstairs unit in this ski chalet is all yours for your Alyeska retreat! This space is priced for four people. We will accommodate parties of up to eight upon request. There is a $30 ($33.60 including tax) nightly charge for each animal and for each additional beyond four. The additional fee doesn't automatically calculate when booking because our system doesn't have that functionality with your booing channel, so we will charge the additional amount separately after confirmation. This upstairs unit is on the second and third floors. It features three bedrooms two with queen-sized beds and one with a double bed. The loft is the only room on the third floor and is equipped with a mini refrigerator/freezer, microwave, closet and dresser space, nightstands, floor lamp, and TV with streaming capabilities. Basic amenities are provided to make your stay comfortable and convenient. There are two small rooms on the main level, each with a queen-sized bed. This unit has an additional queen-sized air mattress available. The open floor plan makes it easy to entertain, and visit with your group while cooking and lounging. The most appealing feature is its great location, within walking distance of almost everything, and now with the free shuttle, it couldn't be more convenient! There is a nice mountain view from the loft bedroom and huge living room windows. You can access your streaming apps and watch movies or enjoy other app entertainment that you may have on the living room TV. The bathroom is small but is a full bath with cabinet space for all your stuff and amenities are provided. The windows are problematic. Some are hard to close, once opened, a couple have some superficial cracks (one pane on two pane window), and some don't have screens. All windows were slated to be replaced last spring, but then COVID hit and we couldn't do it. This year we are still catching up, so it is back on the list for next spring. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Everything is functional, but apparent that it could be better. Animals and extra people are welcome, up to the maximum occupancy of eight for an extra charge of $30 per night for each animal and for each person after four people, which are included in the advertised rate. Pets are welcome, upon approval. Please inquire about monthly pet fees for long-term stays. Dangerous dog breeds will not be approved in the shared house. If you feel that the extra animal/person fee is too expensive, and the value isn’t there for you, please don’t book this place. We want to offer pet-friendly places and we want your business, but we want you to be happy. We strive to keep the properties clean for all guests, which this fee helps pay for. You’ll be asked to rate the value of your experience, and If this fee creates a diminished value perception, then we hope you find another fabulous place for your party. Self-check-in with a lock box makes late check-in easy. You'll be given the lock box code a few days prior to your arrival. Check-in is at 4 pm and check-out is at 11 am. We will offer you early check-in and late check-out options if it's available, a couple of days before your arrival/departure for a fee of $50. There is a lower unit which may also have guests staying during your stay. Please be cognizant of the noise level to be courteous to the downstairs guests and please make sure there is at least one parking spot available for those guests should you arrive with no cars in the driveway to prevent being blocked in by the lower unit guests. Host Kelli happens to be a co-owner of a large tour company with over 20 shore excursions throughout Alaska, mostly in the Southeast. She offers a 15% discount on all tours offered by Alaska Travel Adventures to her vacation rental guests. Unfortunately, Alaska Travel Adventures doesn’t currently offer any day tours in the area. This is a cool place with some historical references. In 1998, Kelli bought the place to live in and considered painting over the Alaska-themed mural, but some of the Girdwood residents lobbied against it, including the librarian who stated that it was her dog painted on the property. She never painted over the mural, and now it seems appropriate to keep it that way. The cabin, now Alyeska Chalet, was built in 1964 and it was raised in 1978 when a concrete slab was poured and a block foundation installed creating a gift shop where tour buses would bring people on their way to and from the sites. Later the lower level housed "the bike shop". When the bike shop outgrew the space, it was converted to a two-bedroom dwelling unit. Guest access Self-check in with a lock box, so late check-in is not a problem. You'll be given the lock box code a few days prior to your arrival. Check-in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am. We will offer you early check-in and late check-out options if it's available, a couple days before your arrival/departure for a fee of $25-$50 depending on your desired schedule and availability.
