This lovingly bespoke hand built Shepherds hut on the exclusive Hurlditch Court Estate offers an amazing break away from the everyday. The hut is furnished with great detail, care and attention and has underfloor heating to provide a luxurious cosy feel The space Step inside the property and warm your feet on the under floor heating. In the evening you can switch off and relax watching the tv and enjoying the free high speed Wi-Fi. Or you can sit outside and toast marshmallows on the fire pit , sip a mug of hot chocolate (or wine !) and watch the beautiful sunsets. After dark (and it really does get dark here!) you can gaze at the stars while sat around the fire pit and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside. These large huts are cosy, warm and very welcoming. There’s a very comfortable double bed with high quality bedding in the separate bedroom. The smart full sized kitchen has granite worktops, oven, hob, toaster, refrigerator, cafetiere and even a wine chiller. Guest access Out and About Our huts are situated between Dartmoor National Park and the Tamar Valley, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as well as being a UNESCO World Heritage site for its mining history. We are therefore perfectly placed to explore both areas as well as for exploring Devon and Cornwall and visiting nearby Plymouth A Gourmet Destination Hurlditch Court is idealy located for food lovers to enjoy some of the best restaurants and eateries in the whole of Cornwall and Devon Below are some of our favourites: The Cornish Arms in Tavistock (5 minutes Drive or Taxi). A multi award winning Gastro Pub, run by Michelin Star winning head chef John Hooker. It offers ‘great tasting dishes with little fuss, classic combinations and lots of flavour’, in the warm cosy restaurant or in the lovely beer garden outside. The Endsleigh (5 minutes Drive or Taxi). This award winning restaurant is located in the former hunting lodge of the Duke of Bedford, overlooking the river Tamar. It is owned and run by Alex Polizzi (the ‘Hotel Inspector’ in the Channel 5 series) and offers lunch, dinner or afternoon tea. The Blacksmith Arms (10 min Walk or 2 min Drive) he blacksmiths is a friendly local serving top class food and drinks seven days a week with its roots firmly within tradition and quality. John, Emma and the team have operated the award winning Cornish arms in Tavistock since early 2013 and are very proud to run the blacksmiths as the sister pub to the thriving Cornish arms. The Horn of Plenty (8 minutes Drive or Taxi). With 2 AA Rosettes The Horn of Plenty restaurant is one of Devons finest, showcasing a passion for British food, with hints of French flair. It serves lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. Taylors in Tavistock (5 minutes Drive or Taxi). This ‘Gold Award, Taste of the West 2021’ winning restaurant is also based in nearby Tavistock. Dutch Head Chef Raoul Ketelaars. Raoul has led the kitchen team for the past four years, and excels in producing classic British dishes alongside modern creations with international influences The Arundell in Lifton (15 minutes Drive or Taxi). With 2 AA Rosettes and a Taste of the West Gold award The Arundal is well worth a visit. The beautiful rococo restaurant is the perfect setting for the mouthwatering menu designed the new Executive Head Chef, Ashley Wright. The renowned vinter Chris Piper has built up an excellent reputation over many years for the quality and breadth of his wines. A bit further afield – but worth a visit are The Pig at Harlyn Bay ( with superb sea views and a separate outdoor Fresh Lobster Shed) and of course there is Rick Stein’s famous Seafood Restaurant in Padstow. Smoking is not allowed inside the property. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 11am Early arrivals and late check-outs can be arranged as follows: - Early arrivals before 12 noon / £30 - Early arrivals after 12 noon / £20 - Late Check out – 1pm / £20 These must be pre-arranged with us before your arrival / departure and cannot be guaranteed.
