You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind historic log cabin with beautiful gardens, pastoral setting, and Tennessee’s living history. The space Jayne’s cabin is set apart from the main house and other cabins. It has front and side porches, and a large grassy spaces in front and back of the cabin. Guests are invited to park right outside the cabin and can access both the front and back doors easily from their car. The property is adjacent to the Norfolk Southern trainline, and trains do pass by several times a day and night. Guest access Guests are welcome to enjoy the outdoor spaces which include fire pit, covered outdoor sitting area, gardens, main house porch swing, grill on the shared patio, and peek inside the four other log cabins that are on the property. Other things to note The Jaynes Farm Cabin was moved to the Gillespie Stone House property in 2010 from its original location on the George Jaynes’ farm four miles south of Limestone. The cabin was built circa 1840, and it was originally a full two story home. As EastTennessee cabins go, it was larger than the average size. When Doug Ledbetter (restorer and owner of Gillespie Stone House from 2003-2021) rebuilt the cabin at its current location, he found that there were only enough viable logs to restore it to a story and a half.
