An 1850s home largely rebuilt by yours truly, my riverfront home features a large deck with spectacular Hudson River views and a unique charm. The open downstairs living area with small full kitchen opens via a sliding door to a large deck directly over the Hudson River. The upstairs has a large bedroom with seating area and a smaller bedroom, and the full bath. Enjoy a peaceful stay our charming village, which I have lived in my entire life! The space You can use the entire house. You also have access to my pool, next door (summer only) and can walk to the end of the peninsula for almost 360 degrees of Hudson River views! (watch out for all the goose droppings!) Sorry, the fireplace isn’t available for guests. Guest access entire house Other things to note The main bedroom and the downstairs have window air conditioners. The upstairs has sloped ceilings so the tall among you may have to watch your head in certain places. While I am directly on the Hudson River, given tides and the nature of the river bottom, it is not practicable to enter the river from this house. It’s all about the views! Also, as you may know, the Hudson River is tidal; even though we are 100 miles from the ocean, the swing is usually six or seven feet and at low tide twice a day the water completely recedes from the area right in front of us. You’ll still see plenty of river, but you’ll also see riverbed—and don’t worry the water will come back. You can check the tide schedule online. Guests may not use the fireplaces. Pets are strictly not allowed. There is no TV and my stereo is quite vintage. It’s best if you bring a laptop and/or a speaker if you are counting on music or watching something that’s not the river! My neighbor walks his dog in the front yard of the house sometimes so don’t be alarmed if you see a man with a dog.
