Description
Tranquil cabin at Salt Creek Ranch in the Gila National Forest. Comfy King bed, full kitchen, and a covered porch with views of horse pastures and beautiful mature trees that grow along Sapillo Creek (runs through the property). See creek crossing note... may need 4WD. Backs up to millions of acres of public land to hike or ride for hours. Surrounded by wildlife, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, deer, and more. Lake Roberts: 2 miles Gila Hot Springs: 15 miles Gila Cliff dwellings: 18 miles The space This lovely modern cabin will give you easy access to hiking in the Gila National Forest and Wilderness; fishing at Lake Roberts; soaking at the Gila Hot Springs; or exploring the Gila Cliff Dwellings. The cabin has an open floor plan, with the only interior walls being around the bathroom, creating lots of natural light and a pleasant uplifting place to "breathe". The kitchen is full-sized with all amenities to cook, bake, and eat. The kitchen shares space with the dining table that easily serves/seats four people. The kitchen counter extends down the wall for a sitting space with tall stools that looks out the window over the horse pasture... a great place to sip on a cup of java in the morning during cooler weather when you'd rather be inside than out on the patio. The King-size bed has a Dormeo topper, as well as two Dormeo pillows. Dormeo pillows have a soft side and a firm side, so flip them over to see which side you like best! Additional pillows are also stored in the cabin closet. The futon sleeper sofa easily folds out to provide a sleeping space for one additional person (though not a very large person) and faces the TV which is equipped with a DVD player and a large selection of DVDs, but does not have service outside of the movie selection. There is additional bedding and pillows in the closet. The outdoor spaces... the front covered patio has beautiful views of the horse pastures and is equipped with a small table with chairs or two outdoor recliners to take in the views. The back yard is a natural gateway into the forest. If you spend a morning or evening sitting in the chairs in this space... it's like watching a Disney movie at times with all the forest animals coming and going from the feeders... all kinds of birds, chipmunks, and squirrels. There is a small pair of binoculars in the cabin with a couple of bird books for this region. We welcome horses to the ranch, as well! We keep four stalls with paddocks in the barn for visiting horses. Check with us for availability and to make arrangements. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home and the entire National Forest behind the home. You are welcome to walk your dogs down the lane/driveway, to and along Sapillo Creek. Other things to note NOTE: You will need to drive through a creek crossing that is usually shallow, but has been a bit higher and more volatile than usual this year so please drive a vehicle with a little clearance (a small SUV is generally just fine).
