We always have home cooked meals, so please join us or bag a meal up to enjoy on the beautiful Kankakee River just down the road. The space Built in 1895, the Moran Homestead was part of a four part plot. With lumber being shipped by car rail and amenities purchased from Joliet, the family spared no expense to every detail to make this beautiful home charming throughout. The home has original woodwork, hardwood flooring, 2nd floor claw tub and 1st floor updated walk in shower. You will be greeted by Corey Michaels, author of "Lost Souls, the Possession of Winchester Grove" which was written in this home. Sleep in "Mason's" special room leading up to the attic that held a 125 year old secret that nearly divided a town. A copy of the book is available for purchase anytime during your stay. Guest access Guests will have full access to the home through the rear entrance and along side owners. Parking is usually open on the side of our home for those that need to get out early. During your stay Guests are welcome to dine with us for a home-cooked meal to experience a true hometown country feel. Other things to note If you are looking for a night out dining, Wilmington has some of the best "Dam" restaurants that will tantalize your taste buds. Nelly's on Rt. 66 has a "Bomb Burger" that will explode in your mouth with flavors we can't even describe! Hayden's is another restaurant highly recommended and worth a visit during your stay. They have the absolute best Cajun Chicken sandwich that will make your feathers pluck themselves! If you want something simple and don't want to go out, take advantage of Pizza 4 U or Fox's Pizza that will cater to the house. They have both pizza, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts! One things is for sure, if you don't eat with us, these establishments are the next best thing to a home cooked meal!
