We are Lálita and António and we want to welcome you to our home. We will share our haven of tranquility with you. We have five rooms for rent, each with its own personality, all with a lot of soul and the comfort you deserve. The space The river is our treasure. We were blessed to have this natural wonder so close. The Castelo de Bode Reservoir is well known by almost everyone, and you can swim, practice water sports, fish or simply contemplate the water mirror in the late afternoon. It's a 2-minute drive or a 10-minute walk from Casa do Olival. ​ We can prepare meals for you with what our garden gives us and with other regional products. Did you know that António is a chef? Enjoy his cooking! Depending on our availability and the time of year, we can be your guides and take you to learn about the stories of the village and the river. Ask us if we can, and we'll be happy to accompany you! We have wifi almost everywhere in the house and even in the garden, but we recommend that you disconnect completely. A digital detox wouldn't be a good thing? Guest access Guests have a kitchen (fully equipped) and a living room just for themselves (with cable TV). We have a pleasant garden with chairs where you can read or lie on the grass to sunbathe. We also have a pool table and board games to lend you. During your stay The couple who own the house, António and Eulália, live in the house, but we will respect your privacy. Other things to note The toilet is private, but not en-suite, that is, it is outside the room, right in front. We provide bath and face towels and toilet paper. If you need shower gel, shampoo or hair dryer, don't hesitate to ask. There is no television in the bedrooms. There is only television in the common room. LOCATION: Casa do Olival is the ideal place to rest away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are in a village that, despite being 10 minutes from the highway, is a typical inland village, without many services around. There is a minimarket and several cafés and restaurants in the nearby village of Serra, a five-minute drive away. You can do your shopping there and eat some basic meals. We are 15 minutes from the city of Tomar, with all the services and iconic sites to visit very close by. At home we have a pleasant garden with chairs where you can read or lie on the grass to sunbathe. We also have a pool table and board games to lend you. If you want breakfast (coffee, tea, milk, juice, bread, butter, homemade jam, cheese, ham, eggs, €7.5/person), lunch or dinner, let us know the day before. We have a vegetable garden and chickens, so we often use homemade products to make meals. We also make our own jams and cakes, which you can buy if we have them in stock. Don't hesitate to ask for information! We have several activities for you, depending on availability and time of year. Such as: hiking, we can teach you how to make bread in a wood-fired oven, a jam, a liqueur, traditional cakes, etc. Throughout the year we make jams, liqueurs, sweets and other delicacies that you can buy and take as a souvenir of the days well spent at Casa do Olival. We have two dogs, Shrek and Chewbacca, but they live in a private area separated by a gate, away from the common areas. You can bring your pet at ease, it will have plenty of room to run and play! We have private parking with space for several cars. Your vehicle will be protected within our property. Although we have Wi-Fi and there is a good signal in the living room, the signal that reaches the rooms, although OK, is not very powerful, since we have ADSL internet and the house is large, so you may not be able to watch streaming series, watch videos and browse heavier pages.
